Club Med Cancun

The Cancun Village is beautiful, but very spread out! It can be a very long way from your room to a desired activity. There is a small shuttle that runs from the room areas to the more remote activites. The Scuba dock for instance is quite a hike, especially if you are carrying your own dive equipment!

This village is located an a beautiful stretch of white powder beach. It seems that in the hottest sun it does not absorb enough heat to burn your feet. The beach in Cancun is quite develpoed commercially, so it has a "Myrtle Beach" quality about it that is not quite as relaxing to us as the less-devolped beach in Negril, but on the other hand there is a lot to do in Cancun outside the Club Med Village! The pool at the Club Med in cancun is large and active with plenty of room for swimming, sunning, and even water polo and water basketball. It is one of the nicest pools we have seen at a resort.

The Main restaurant (buffet) is on the second floor of the building behind the pool.

Scuba at this village was well organized and the equipment was safe and well-maintained. There were shallow dives (60 ' and less) and deeper dives (80-90') each day. The diving fee ($100 PP) entitles you to one dive per day. The water was warm even without a skin in December! Visibility was about 60-90' most of the time. Club Med's standard evening activities seems to never change. The first time you experience it it's fun and different. The second time for us it got a little old, but the first time was a real blast! Karoke, Table Tennis Tounaments, Limbo Contests, (my wife does really well at that!), staff-perfomed shows that we usually enjoyed... it is active! Something is going on at all times.
