If "Fate" has already been decided, Can nothing against it be done? The "End" and "Future" are one, but we keep on living... For the "Future." - Clamp

Far below the halls of Japan's seat of government, the Diet Building, a blind prophetess named Hinoto dreams of the Earth's last days ¾ the End of the World. In the fate Hinoto has foreseen, the entire Earth falls to a terrible cataclysm, beginning with the destruction of Tokyo. The "Seven Seals" and the "Seven Harbingers" are powerful beings who occupy opposing sides in a great conflict that will decide the Earth's fate. According, to Hinoto, by summoning the "Dragons of Earth," the Seven Harbingers are destined to destroy the world, and the Seven Seals, by calling upon the "Dragons of Heaven," have the power to save it. And somehow, a young man named Kamui has the ability to tip the balance of the scale to one side or the other ¾ by choosing to lead either the Seals or the Harbingers, he has the power to save the Earth.... or destroy it.

After an absence of six years, Kamui Shiro, in obedience to his mother's dying words, returned to Tokyo to seek his fate. In Tokyo, Kamui has remained with old friends, and met both new friends and enemies, some of whom also posses mysterious powers. But soon after Kamui's arrival, the sacred sword that was his by birthright was stolen from the shrine where it had been protected by the father of his best friends, Fuma and Kotori Monou. Mr. Monou lost his life in his bid to protect the sword and died in Fuma's arms, whispering a warning about Kamui's destiny. The sword and its mysterious captor (it was Nataku)  vanished. Soon after this, Kamui discovered a relative he didn't know he had ¾ his mother's sister, Tokiko. But all to soon, Tokiko vanished as well, leaving no clue to her whereabouts.

As more members of the seven Seals and the Seven Harbingers appear, the time of destiny seems to be drawing close. Kotori is plagued by nightmare visions, and even Fuma has begun to act strangely. But when Kamui's aunt Tokiko reappears and then dies giving bloody birth to a second sword, Kotori's memories return to the gruesome death of her mother, and her already fragile hold on reality begins to slip, giving rise to horrible visions....

Note: The Seven Seals really aren't trying to destroy the Earth, but they are trying to destroy humanity so the Earth can become pure again.
