Racing with scooters is very popular in Europe. In many countries you see different types of races like in Belgium. You can see 2 pictures above from a 4 hour "cannonball" race in Zolder / Belgium. This was a 50cc race with almost no limitations. Some scooters reached a average speed of 145 Km/h. Winner was Ben Barten (Holland) on his Beta Ark.
These pictures are from the Euro Scooter Trophy '97 & the Euro Malossi Scooter Cup. The Euro Scooter Trophy '97 race was a 50cc race & the Euro Malossi Scooter Cup was a 70 cc race. The winner in the 50cc race was Sachy Valentin (France) on a Piaggio & the winner in the 70 cc race was Piacenti Fabrizio (Italy), also on a Piaggio.
