STEVE "S-MAK" MAKLER
The man they call "S-Mak" was born in the tough subdivision of St. Louis Missouri. He first got a taste for the acting bug when he was cast in his elementary production of Wizard of Oz. Although only having three lines as "the gatekeeper" he is still regarded today as "the kid who saved Emerald City." Later at the tender age of sixteen he got a taste for Stand-Up Comedy. He began performing at the local Funny Bones at open mikes and eventually was asked if he would like to go up on the main stage. No one knew he wasn't old enough to drink, but that didn't stop the bar staff from always filling his glass. At 18, he got a 10 city tour across the midwest. Opening for such has-beens as Barry Sobel, and Jake Johansenn, and soon to be has-been Ellen Degeneres. After meeting his girlfriend on the internet, he decided to move to Austin, Texas. He found that he loved the city more than her, and more importantly improvisation. He began performing with ComedySPortz based in San Antonio in 1993. After a couple of hundred shows, he then switched to ComedySportz Austin, where he was doing 4-5 shows a week for 5 years. Then a friend of Mr. Makler's asked him why he wasn't in LA. Mr Makler responded "Don't know. Guess I should go." He packed his bags, and headed towards Hollywood. He immediatly got cast as an extra in many motion pictures. Then landed a lead role in the now cancelled Sci-Fi network tv show "G vs. E," playing the psychotic patient Zigler. He finally got his SAG card and a commercial agent in April of 2000. And landed a national commercial for Yahoo.com that same month. Then the next month tragedy struck. SAG went on strike. S-mak was horrified, confused, but most of all in need of work. He stuck around for a few more months then figured, screw it, I'm leaving. He landed here in October of 2000 and immediatly auditioned for Sic in the Head. He has enjoyed playing with the crazy folks here and would like to thank Ross and TJ for the opportunity to perform. He would most of all though like to thank his inspiration in life, Beth. She gives him hope when there is none to be found.
