Bonders
"Wow," breathed Vitrem, staring in awe at the view before him. "Lookit all that water. D'we get ta go in it?"
"Of course," laughed his favorite sister, Vivi. "How else would we swim? In the sand?" She paused, squinting into the distance, then pointed. "And there are some sea dragons, see?"
He squinted too, and jumped up and down, thinking it might make him see better. He could just make out a group of large shapes moving around under the water. "Jeez, they're huge! Almost big as th' air dragon who visited a few weeks 'go."
"Not quite, but close," she agreed. "Now c'mon, Ma and Pa are already halfway there."
He and his sister were perched on one of the rocks sticking up out of the water, having been at the Cove for a few hours. Vitrem hadn't quite gotten up his nerve to get in the "big water," so she'd stayed with him. She was nice.
Suddenly, a large shape swam up to them and broke surface, shaking water from its smooth head. The boy was so surprised at seeing a dragon up close, he fell into the water, retrieved quickly by the green sea dragon. He coughed up a bit of water, but was otherwise unhurt, and she deposited him gently back on the rock.
"Careful, kid," the dragoness warned in good humor, looking him in the eye. He just gaped at her.
"Yer pretty," he said finally.
She blinked. "Thank you. I take it you're both new here."
Vivi answered before he could for once. "We're here on vacation with our parents, from House Segno, Clan Sfraga." This was said with pride, for one always took pride in one's Clan. "Our names are Vivi and Vitrem, if it matters. We'll only be here for a week or two, though."
"Hmmm. No, I'm sorry, that just won't do. You two are going to be staying here far longer than that."
"Huh?"
She smiled at them. "Vivi, Vitrem, my name is Jealiness, Vegliante Cove's Bond Searcher. I've just Searched you both for the clutch we've got on the Beach, and I hope you'll be willing to stay. Your parents, I dare say, won't mind."
Now they were both gaping at her, but his sister recovered first. "S- sure, I guess, but we don't know anything about the water. I barely remember how to swim, and Remmy's never done it."
"Perfectly fine. You'll learn. After all, if that little blue flit I assume is yours can do it, so can you." She indicated Fliara, who was diving gracefully through the waves, taking full advantage of the water.
"Um, yeah. I guess so," she responded, and he just nodded vigorously. Wow! This was great!
