On
November 4, 1998, Canada Post Corporation released its first ever stamp
of a commissioned Canadian warship, HMCS Shawinigan (MM 704). The
two stamp set commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the Naval Reserve and
features Shawinigan and HMCS Sackville (K181). Sackville is the only
remaining World War II corvette, and has been returned to its original
configuration. The ship is located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is
open to the public throughout the summer. Visit the official HMCS
