The officer positions are a combination of volunteer and elected positions which require a dedicated commitment from the individual fulfilling the position. When a position is open, the U-Committee nominates someone to fulfill that position. Even though a person is nominated they must be willing to fulfill the duties of that office, thus the volunteer status. If all agree, including the nominee, the nominated individual steps into that position and takes over its duties.
