Houston Pride Parade 2000 was a success and a definite blast. Over 100,000 Houstonians came to watch and cheer the parade on and celebrate with us all. Those within the TG community who attended and or marched in it also had a great time. The TG community found a lot of support along the way and even received a special recognition by the M.C. of the parade as the Unity Committee float passed by.
Need Volunteers!
This year the Unity Committee is looking for a few good TGs and TG supporters that want to be all they can be by volunteering to help design, decorate, and build the Unity Committee Pride Parade Float! Last year's float was great...let's make this year's float bigger and better. To do so, the Unity Committee will need as many people as possible to help build it. If you would like to show your support and help with the float, then contact the current officers of the Unity Committee and let them know.
Also, the Unity Committee would like to have as many TG and TG supporters walk with the float in the Pride Parade 2001 on Saturday, June 23rd, 2001. If you did not do it last year then you missed a fantastic experience. This year will even be more fun so come and join us as we celebrate being proud of our TGness. Our goal is to have at least a minimum of 40-50 people marching with the Unity Committee float. Help us to make that goal. Let's let Houstonians know that we are out here and are proud of who we are.
Participation, Dedication, & Donation will be 3 of the keys to help Pride Parade 2001 be a success. If you would like to donate some of your time, talent and or finances to the Unity Committee Pride Parade 2001 float, then feel free to contact one of the Unity Committee officers and let them know.
We look forward to your assistance,
The Unity Committee
