Branch Rally '98

18th Australian Jamboree








Branch Rally '98.

The Rally was held at Cataract Scout Park on the 29 - 30th August.
3rd Bathurst was represented by the "Kimasavis" patrol
They were awarded 3rd Place in the Regional placings.

18th Australian Jamboree.


The 18th Australian Jamboree was held over the Christmas Holidays 1-11th Janurary 1997. It was held at Springfield in Ipswich Queensland. All 3rd Bathurst members where in troop 268. 3rd Bathurst had 2 patrols.

And Owen Sutton who was in the "Combined" Patrol, which had people from all other groups - Cowra , Kelso & Blayney. Our Gateway had Hand painted pieces of canvas with; The Bathurst 1000 theme and Cowra WWW2 Breakout and the World Peace Bell.
Travelling up by Coach,we left on New Years Day, it took 14 hours all up.
Our Leaders were:
Greg Ingersole - Troop Leader
Ellen Sutton - Welfare Leader
Kendall McMasters - Activity Leader
Graham(Homer)Simpson - Assistant Troop Leader.
Some Activities at the Jamboree were; Outings to the Theme Parks - Wet'n'Wild, SeaWorld & MovieWorld.There were also onsite activities some of these included, Shopping, Action Village - Abseiling, Bike Bungle, Cultral Village - Improvisation, Ballon Modelling.There was also Religious Observence, Global Village and Scoutcraft Village. After 10 days in Queensland, we were all glad to arrive home in Bathurst to a Warm Shower(by yourself) and a warm bed.
