Justin's Transcript on TRL |
September 14, 2001
Transcribed by Tara C for *NSYNC Over 21 Mailing list
C = Carson, JN = John Norris, JT = Justin Timberlake
C: It's tough for everybody involved ya know. It's tough to be here in New York.
JT: I'm sure it is and uh, I know it hit home to a lot of people who are calling
in because everybody was just there for the VMA's. But I can tell you we've all
said a million prayers, and um I think that's the best thing we can do right
now.
C: Have you had a chance to get in touch with your family? I know the long
distance lines are down.
JT: Yea I've talked with my family, and all my friends and everyone I've talked
to, there hasn't been one person who hasn't known or been affected by what's
been going on. I know someone who worked close to us one of those planes.
C: Yea Joey told us.
JT: And it just hits home with so many different people. And ya know I feel
saddened and I get a bit of anxiety about it because our unity and our
spiritually has been challenged as humans. And I hearin all these wonderful
things about people volunteering and going down to give blood, and they already
have too much of it. It puts a smile on my face, I think there's some tests that
have been put before us, and I think were passing them. But I think, I think,
it's tough. Like everybody said it's tough and I think we all, like John just
said, show a sense of moral. And try to keep this whole will of life going.
C: Justin you're in arguably the worlds biggest pop group. What do you say to
your fans? The people who buy *NSYNC's music at a time like this, on live TV?
Cause they look up to you, they buy the magazines, they watch you on TRL,
everything that comes out of your mouth is so important, at a tragedy like this,
what do you say to the nsync fans?
JT: I think what I'd say to them is ya know, no matter if your Muslim, Buddhist,
Christian, say your prayers. Because there is one thing we all celebrate and I
said it when I stepped up to the podium for the first award we won at the VMA's,
I said let's celebrate the gift of life, and that's something we all can agree
with. But, were all human so that makes us all family, and I think that's the
main thing I want everybody to understand, is that it doesn't matter, what it
is, were all human and we should all learn to love each other.
C: At what time, when does *NSYNC regroup? At what time what sort of a timeline
are you on, I mean here we are coming into a weekend, President Bush is here in
New York,
JT: Right
C: Were having a national day of rememberance, everybody is praying, but I think
everybody is just bracing themselves for what...World War three? I mean
something is gonna go down?
JT: Yea, I think something is definitely gonna come out of this that were all
not gonna like to see, but I can honestly tell you that were already putting our
heads together with our management and were trying to come up with a really
great way to help everyone who is in need of this, and were all gonna do what we
can and I know everybody's doing what they can. I think the whole world is on
pause right now as far as going on with what they thought was important because
this is what's important, and I can definitely tell you that you'll be the first
to hear about it when we do come up with our way to help.
C: Justin, we appreciate you calling in, and our best to your family as well
JT: Thank you
C: Were awfully sorry to hear about your loss. Alright Justin, we'll be talking
to you soon.
JT: Alright God bless.
C: Thanks, you too.
