NOW THAT THEY'VE CONQUERED THE MUSIC BIZ, 'NSYNC'S LANCE BASS AND JOEY FATONE
TAKE ON HOLLYWOOD
LANCE BASS IS IN HIS BOXERS, IN A MINUTE, HE'LL drop his mike and run offstage.
No, this isn't an embarassing concert moment for the 'Nsync star; it's all part
of a scene he's shotting for Miramax Films' On the Line, a romantic comedy
produced by Lance's company, A Happy Place. In his first movie role, he
pays Kevin, a shy guy who launches a citywide search for his dream girl-played
by Emmanuelle Chriqui-whom he locked eyes with on Chicago's "L" train.
While fellow 'Nsyncer Joey Fatone costars and a few surprise cameos may possibly
be in store, On the Line is not an "'Nsync movie," says Lance, adding,
"We want it to stand on its own." If you ask Line's director, Eric
Bross, both pop stars have a future in the movie bussiness. "Elvis
had this natural quality to him that I think Lance has, and Joey is amazing-he
had a wonderful sense of comic timing," says Bross. "I was
shocked at their ability. I'd work with either of them again."
(Then there were four pictures, one big one of Joey in his wig, sitting next to
Lance, one with Emmanuelle and Lance, one with Joey playing the guitar, and one
of Lance on stage with the microphone. Here were the captions for the pics)
Emmanuelle and Lance pic: So did Lance's kissing skills pass muster?
"Hell, yeah!" says Emmanuelle Chriqui. "It wasn't
painful."
Lance pic: "Kevin is so not me," says Lance. "He's down,
and you just wantto say, 'Cheer up!' It's emotionally draining."
Joey Pic: "Chicks dig the wig," jokes Joey, whose metalhead character,
Rod sports a messy mop top for this high school dance flashback.
Lance and Joey pic: And then there were two. "If you have [all of us]
in it, the audience can't suspend their imagination. They'll go, 'Hey,
that's 'Nsync,'" says Joey Fatone of their cohorts' absesnce from On the
Line.
