Fishing 1999
1/8/99 went to the rrbridge and caught a few more shrimp but still slow.Water was a little more clear and no wind with little current with fog to blindly travel thru on our way to the dock.
1/10/99 went to sebastian north jetty and caught 9 small snook but had to release them the winds kicked up and drove everyone off the jetty so we went to the north west end for a calm area to fish and caught 4 sheephead to finish off the day
Went to haulover 1/1/99 for shrimping and got a dozen jumbo shrimp but it took all night .The trout were small but the weather was good and the water cloudy.
1/15/99 went to sebastian and caught a variety of fish but nothing worth keeping
1/17/99 went to a honey hole,at the Indian river, using shrimp and caught alot of jacks ,maybe 100, and hooked into a couple keeper blackdrum. wore a blister on my trigger finger fighting those jacks lol.was calm in the am then the winds kicked up and headed for sheltered canals nothing biting there but still had a great day and want to try that place again soon!
1/21/99 went to haulover for shrimping and caught 4 doz.large to jumbo shrimp.I guess there are those slow days.
1/29/99 the shrimp were elsewhere.only one shrimp but caught a 30"red at haulover canal on a quarter of blue crab, and yes I released it
Went out 3/6/99 and noticed that they dont allow boats to enter the Power plant so we went to another favorite canal where there was alot of action.Large reds were biting along with some jacks. The reds were hitting on the jacks we were catching so we played the jacks till the reds hit them. The red in this photo was caught on a 12" jack! Missed bike week but not the reds.
Filled the bucket at haulover canal 3/9/99 with large to jumbo sized shrimp! The wind was sw,15 kts , and clear skies
3/26/99 went to Haulover canal and landed this 38# blackdrum
3/29/99 went to sebastian and nailed this 39" snook
4/10/99 Haulover Canal was the place to be 5 gallons of large and jumbos!
5/29/99 went 25 miles offshore for an hour and caught a shark
Then all of a sudden from out of the east came black skies!
7/11/99 Sebastian Inlet we didn't do very good but there was turbulent water near the island to the nw of the channel and had to get out and hang with these guys!!
9/12/99 Banana River shore fishing the flats got us a few reds.
11/3/99 went out to sebastian inlet for the early evening outgoing tide and ran into a school of tarpon!hooked 8 and landed one.they sure dance on the water when hooked!after loosing hooks lines and sinkers went home with the memories.you cant plan a trip like that.
