Where to skate in Osaka for beginners
The numbers on the map represent the locations mentioned below:
1 - Nagai Park
How to get there:
JR Hanwa Line to Nagai Station
Osaka subway Midosuji Line to Nagai Station
Probably the best place to skate in Osaka. The road inside the park totals 3 km, which makes it a good spot for skating and other activities. The area in front of Nagai Stadium is where many of the local skaters hang out.
2 - Osaka Castle Park
How to get there:
JR Osaka Loop Line to Osakajo koen Station or JR Morinomiya Station
Osaka Municipal Subway Chuo line and Nagahori Tsurumi-ryokuchi Line to Morinomiya Station
Next to Nagai Park, this is the second best place to skate in Osaka. On the weekends you will see many joggers go around Osaka Castle. The asphalt is great on the road in the park. The only thing to watch out for is the sudden downhill slope towards Morinomiya Station. Skating once around the park is almost 4 km. Advanced skaters may use the streets outside at their own risk.
3 - Along the Yodo-gawa cycling lane
How to get there:
North bank - Osaka Municipal Subway Midosuji Line to Nishinakajima-Minamigata Station. Then walk about 3 to 4 minutes south towards the Yodo-gawa.
South bank - About a 15 to 20 minute walk north from Umeda.
4 - Ryokuchi Park (in Toyonaka City)
How to get there:
Take the Midosuji Line Thru service towards Senri-Chuo and get off at Ryokuchi-Koen Station. Then walk west for about 3 minutes.
I have not skated there yet, but I heard that it is a nice place to skate. I will try to updated this with more concrete information in the near future.
