Elizabeth, the daughter of Thomas Charde and Elizabeth Bunckom Charde,was born in England about the year 1587. She first married Aaron Cooke on September 2, 1610 in Thornecombe, Dorset, England. A son, Aaron was born to them that same year. On December 28, 1615, Elizabeth lost her husband while living in Bridport, Dorset. Her second marriage, on June 19, 1616, was to Thomas Ford, a widower with children of his own. On March 30, 1630, Elizabeth and Thomas sailed on the "Mary & John" for New England from Plymouth, England along with their children. Elizabeth died on April 18, 1643 in Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut where she and Thomas kept an Inn.
