During recent years, a lot of "New Age" organizations and groups have nested in our country, trying to initiate people to their ideology by the most devious and unlikely ways.
These groups, which are usually called cults, first aim in deceiving people as of their real intentions. Generally, their next aim is to put their hand in our pockets, while in all cases they want to turn us into carriers and advertisers of their ideas, and touts for new followers. In the long run, cults target in imposing by indirect means a change in peoples' faith, so that "New Age" may come, in other words, so that people may silently accept a dictatorial worldwide authority, a worldwide religion and a worldwide economy. European civilization is founded on the idea of democracy, which started out from Greece, and on the "Christian perception of man as a free, and therefore responsible being, i.e., a person". The replacement of this perception with the Asian anthropology of karma and reincarnation undermines the foundations of our civilization.
Unfortunately, "New Age", which considers mass killings necessary in order to impose itself, suggests a "civilization" much more horrible than the worst expression of those it wants to supersede.
Cults can be Hinduistic, Taoistic, Buddhistic or even pseudo-Christian in character, while quite often they are led by a "Messiah" who maintains that he has the only solution for the problems of humanity, that God assigned to him a special mission, or even that he is the "Christ" of the "New Age". Cults mostly claim that all religions have essentially the same teachings, and that "obscurantist" Orthodox Church is not the carrier, but the distorter of Truth. They also claim that they are the genuine holders of Truth, which they promise to teach with a handsome reward.

Greek
Center of Dianetics and Scientology
(formerly
KEFE, Center of Applied Philosophy of Greece)
It was founded by Lafayette Ron Hubbard, a science fiction writer, who was supposedly aiming at the "salvation of the world" and "a society without crimes and mental clinics"; the real aim of Scientology is money-making and world-domination. Scientology, which is directly linked to American secret agencies, uses brain washing, spiritual terrorism and spying. It plans to acquire its own state in the Balkans, a state that will consist of parts of Bulgaria, Albania and Greece (!) and will be called Bulgravia. Scientology uses its members and its subsidiary organizations (U-MAN HELLAS etc.) to pervade commercial enterprises; it also uses sueing and slandering against those who unveil and criticize it.
Scientology usually approaches people with the supposedly scientific "test of personality analysis". People who take this test are then heavily pressed - by letters and phone calls - to attend the cults' seminars and buy its books, "in order to improve their character". Scientology is responsible for thousands of suicides among its followers. Hubbard's son is one of them, while his daughter has also tried to kill herself...
Scientology
uses actors as touts. In Greece, this role is played by reporters (M. Triandafyllopoulos,
V. Rafailidis, "Ios" of the Sunday "Eleftherotypia").
The activity of KEFE was banned in Greece, after a report by District Attorney I. Angelis. However, I.Angelis was transferred (!) while the criminal organization continues to go around Greece with its red buses, appearing as a religion! (Initially Scientology appeared as a philosophical society). A main target of this cult is the separation between the Orthodox Church and the Greek state, so that it may be regarded as a church equivalent to the Orthodox Church! This aim is promoted by reporters who collaborate with Scientology.

ISKCON, International Society for the Krishna Consciousness (Hare Krishna)
If the organization was named "Society for the Krishna imposition", it would be more sincere. The cult's founder, swami Prabhupada, arrived in America with 7 dollars and a suitcase. Calling himself "his divine Grace", he made a colossal fortune. ISKCON preaches divine slavery, turns its followers against their families, and gives them a new Hindu name. Quite often, the cult sends its followers to other countries, and it always forces them to go begging. During the decade 1970-80, ISKCON gained $75,000,000 from begging. The cult followers lie that this money are intended for the poor people of India; the truth is that ISKCON buys arms, preparing for a religious war. According to an ex-member, Prabhupada said: "In the future we will ask people to chant 'Hare Krishna', and if they don't we shall kill them" (!)

Brahma Kumaris (often under the false title "Worldwide Spiritual University")
This is a Hindu organization with international interconnections; its name means "Brahma's daughters". It was founded by a Hindu merchant, who, during meditatation, got the obsession that he is a god of Hinduism. So he acquired his first followers and hastened to proclaim his deity and Hindu beliefs all over the world, using the following methods:
Armoniki Zoe (Harmonious Life)
Head of this Guru organization is Robert Najemy, a Hindu super-guru Sai Baba's disciple. "Armoniki Zoe" teaches the doctrines of karma and reincarnation, methods of yoga and meditation, vegetarianism and the like, while presenting Christ as an "avatar"; it uses the prayer "Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me" during meditation, as well as various Hindu "mandram". Although the cult organizes visits of its followers to Sai Baba in India, it maintains that they visit him by themselves...
Hindus claim that they know Jesus Christ
better
than... Christians.
It has a frequent presence at "Health and Ecology Radio", and is related to the "ashram" (Hindu monastery) at Myrrinounda. The cult misleads people in many ways: it calls Orthodox priests to perform the Service of the Holy Water; it made a request to the Ministry for Public Security to offer free yoga courses to the imprisoned; it constantly assures its devotees that they can follow the cult and be "Christians too". Unfortunately, Robert Najemy's guru, Sai Baba, is a member of "Vishna Hindu Parishad" (VHP), ISKCON and other similar cults. VHP was founded in Bombay, in 1964, aiming at the "protection, development and propagation of Hinduistic values"; it constitutes the political and religious part of the right-wing nationalistic party Bharatiya Janata overseas. These two organizations originate from RSS (Rastriya Swayamaseral); members of this organization murdered Mahatma Ghandi.
In India these two organizations are working for the conversion of the native Christians of North-Eastern India to Hinduists using operations with armed forces, for ideologically covering the cremation of widows with their dead husband, for publicly lynching Muslims, and for other similar noble activities. Overseas, VHP supports the "rights of religious minorities", - the rights it transgresses in India - because out of India VHP is a minority too. Thus, it speaks about "religious freedom" in order to unobstructedly promote the transformation of the societies to racist-Hinduist, societies based on the "Hinduist value" of castes - which in turn are based on karma and reincarnation.
Theosophy (Theosophical society)
It was founded by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, a German-Jew spiritualist who has been proved to mislead her followers; those who worked closely with her believed she was possessed by demons. Hindu nationalism specialists characterize Theosophy as a Hindu heresy. Like freemasonry, Theosophy promotes the union of all religions, because supposedly "all of them say the same thing", namely that man, creation and Creator are the same, that evil is not different from good, and that God is not aware of... Himself (!) Theosophy teaches that God is evil, Jesus Christ is a higher-degree initiate (not the one and only Son of God) and considers Lucifer as the... benefactor of humanity!
Ananda Marga (AMURT etc.)
It was founded by Sri-Sri Anandamurti (Brabhat Rajan Sarkar) in 1955, and is based in Calcutta. It owns numerous organizations all over the world and aims in resuming authority, so that "cosmic society" may dominate. Anandamurti is regarded as an incarnation of Brahma, as a top-ranking guru and as the supreme power of the Universe (!). In 1971 he was sentenced to life imprisonment together with 4 other people, for the assassination of 14 ex-members of the organization. During Anandamurti's imprisonment, (which lasted until 1978, when Indira Ghandi won the elections), his followers made a lot of terrorist attacks; two young protesting Westerners burned themselves!
Ananda Marga is a very dangerous cult; it does not hesitate to use violence. Its followers, who call each other "Dada" (brothers) and "Didi" (sisters), are forced to be bound by celibacy, use yoga and be vegetarians; they are not allowed to doubt the guru. Some of the Greeks who lived in coenobiums of this cult in India gave it up after they suffered hell on earth.
Hinduists
manifestate peacefully; yet, they prepare themselves to... kill the "faithless".
Recently, members of this cult (which has a branch at Kypseli, Athens, near Saint George church) distributed brochures, asking from Kypseli inhabitants to offer foods and first aid supplies for the Kurds who were sheltered at Saint Andrew, Rafina region. In these brochures, Ananda Marga presents itself as a charity organization. God knows what happens with these supplies... or what Ananda Marga - a terrorist organization, watched by Interpol - expects by helping the Curds...
AUM
Centre
An affiliate of Hindu guru
Sri Chinmoy, it teaches yoga and meditation techniques.
It is frequently advertised
by posters.

exercises impress those who don't know that its side effects range from
madness to DEATH.
Mantiram
Centre
In this Centre, Leda Sandala (Irene Seitanidou), who was initiated to Theosophy by her uncle when she was very young, teaches yoga under a cover of Hindu dancing. Eastern religious doctrines are frequently covered behind "psychotherapy seminars" based on dance, that take place at this Centre.
Hindu

Other Dangerous Groups
Occult and neo-fascist organization, founded by Jorg Angel Livranga Rizzi from Argentina. According to Livranga's instructions "Propaganda must have an attractive image... No one should suspect that people are asked to change their way of life". The organization appears itself as a "Centre of Philosophy" which offers free lectures. This cult aims in eliminating democracy, which "governs people who are in a subhuman condition" (!) and to generate a new race of superhuman dominators.
Livranga was dreaming of a totalitarian society where "no one will have either a reason, or a chance to go on strike or to work in a bad mood", while "everyone will devote six hours per day to the divine commandments" (Livranga's commandments, of course). Exclusive sexual relations will be forbidden, even in marriage! Whoever does not worship the "new deity" will be rejected or isolated in "houses for unadaptables", while whoever practices violence will be "inevitably" executed!
"Nea Acropoli" performs religious services in ancient temples in honour of ancient deities. It owns a "Security Force" which is trained in martial arts - quite often with real arms -, "to become one day a great army, a great power". The cult also uses the fascist salute with the word "Ave". Its members are taught meditation and stories about... fairies, pixies, green dwarfs and other imaginary creatures. Senior members belonging to the kernel of the organization are obliged to send precise reports on their life to their leader, describing personal details. The leader receives payment and lives gratis at the place where the cult is based.
Detail: During the raising of the flag, the Greek flag is under the cult's flag, because Greece belongs to the empire of New Citadel!

Citadel" followers train themselves in Martial Arts, so that one day they
may become a "great army".
Unification Church
Organization of the pseudo-Messiah San Myung Moon, one of the 50 greater capital holders worldwide. He and his fourth wife, Han Hac Ja, call themselves Lamb and Bride and claim that by their "perfect marriage" the Doomsday took place and humanity was salvated!
They often organize massive weddings of followers, deciding who will marry whom, while generally the grooms and brides have never met before. Moon says that he succeeded where Christ failed, and that he is the Father of humanity, which he intents to unify, saving it from atheism and communism. One of his slogans is, "Let the green dollars return to the 'Father'"(himself).
Moon has been forbidden entrance in Germany and England, on the grounds of public interest, but in other countries and particularly in Russia he is left to his own devices. He founds "educational" institutes, through which he promotes his organization and buys enterprises all over the world. In Greece, he owns a newspaper and a bank. Among his fellows is Savas Agouridis, a professor at the Salonica University, Department of Theology; in a solemn ceremony Agouridis offered to Moon a copy of the "World Holy Scripture" - a panreligious monstrosity written by Moon's followers in order to pronounce him a God.
Moon's seminars use heavy brain-washing, by methods that were successfully tested during the Vietnam war (deprivation of food and sleep etc.). Moon controls the worldwide jing seng trade and spends money abundantly. He hides behind hundreds of organizations, which have misleading names and look unrelated to one another (associations and clubs focusing on peace, dancing, education etc.). Moon's wife has visited our country several times, offering lectures to known hotels. In one of her visits, she was welcomed by Georgios Rallis, ex-Prime Minister and a well-known Mason.

Gnostics
The Gnostics movement was founded by Samael Aun Veor, who claimed to be the "Avatar of the Age of Aquarius" and was an admirer of Lucifer, whom he called "Good Demon Christ", "Gnostic Sun" etc.
According to former senior members, Gnostics teach "witchcraft: meditation, astral projections, telepathy exercises, awakening of inner powers..." Among their basic methods is 'sexual alchemy', i.e. sex without orgasm, which aims in spiritual development! According to Veor, Christ and His... wife, practiced sexual alchemy, so Christ became a... superhuman. By these methods, Veor (who claimed to be an incarnated fallen angel), would form a New Race, whom he would lead to a secret place, to save it from destruction...
After the menopause of his wife, Litelante, Veor practiced sexual alchemy with one of his disciples, so Hulio Medina and other disciples accused him of adultery and split the organization. Before he died, Veor declared that his spirit will rest in an Egyptian mummy until his next incarnation. After his death, the cult was split in many groups, which are led by Litelante, Medina, Ravolou, Baron and others. Each of these groups accuses the others for using black magic. Recently, the Greek branch of the group which is led by Ravolou, changed its name to "Gnostic Christian (!) Movement of Greece of the New Order"! Other groups are called SEG, AGEAC etc.
Humanistic Center of Direct Communication (of neighbours)
This name covers the ruthless guru organization of the Argentine "Messiah" Silo, which considers the rest of the world (except for the organization members) as "authorities of pigs". Under a guise of self-liberation, the cult makes people irresolute, by mind control techniques. Silo (Mario Luis Rodrigues Cobos) first called his movement "Inner religion" and then "Humanistic Party" and "Humanistic International".
The organization works at the neighbourhood level, using various local problems to proselytize people, while it reveals its real intentions little by little. In Greece, it used to publish the newspaper titled "Patissiotika", which was supposedly "open to all opinions", and where many unsuspected shopkeepers were advertised. Today the cult publishes the similar newspapers "Gheitones" ('Neighbours'), "Eprepe" ('It Should'), "Dromos", ('Way') "Antropistiki Pnoe" ('Humanistic Breath') and others. The cult also proselytizes through sexual relations, as David Berg's (Mo) "Children of God" organization does.
It also approaches groups which are considered as fringe groups (homosexuals, drug addicts and others).
AMORC Inc. (Antiquus Mysticusque Ordo Rosae Crucis)
False-Christian organization that follows a Masonic model, sells meditation, vegetarianism, telepathy, paganism, devil-worship and theosophy. It was founded by H. Spenser Lewis and is based at San Jose, California. It uses secret names and has 6 initiation degrees. In the first degree, the doctrine of Karma is taught; in the second, the doctrine of reincarnation; in the third, the idea that "nature is God"; in the fourth, the idea that "everyone is a god"; in the fifth, the idea that "Christ was a Rosicrucian", not the one and only Son of God.
This organization mixes up God with man and with the Universe teaching that they are all one, believes that God is impersonal and teaches that everyone can become god-like by the cult's techniques. The first "emperor" of AMORC Inc., H.S. Lewis, has publicly stated that his organization is closely connected to Masonry. AMORC owns an "Institute for Children" up to the age of 6! L.R. Hubbard, the "Messiah" of Scientology, used to be a member of AMORC.
In
Greece there are also other organizations which also claim that they originate
from secret Rosicrucian brotherhoods (e.g. Lectorium Rosicrucianum).
AMORC
Inc. loves fairy-tales:
it
claims that it originates from ancient Egyptian Brotherhoods.
Osiris Isis
This
occult group, led by Tassos Manariotis, follows the spirituality of Zen
Buddhism and uses self-hypnosis, breathing techniques, mandram and the
like, to "awake mind potential". Manariotis claims he does not teach "New
Age" theories but "classic metaphysics"...
Meditation is promoted by "Osiris - Isis", "Coffee School" and other cults.
Coffee school - Costas Foteinos
This organization sells "self-knowledge" seminars at a very high price; its spirituality is Zen Buddhist, including elements of Adler's psychology theories. The organization instills to its followers the idea that "they have to learn more" (and pay more).
There are cases of young people who give up their studies or even their job, to engage in this organization. C. Foteinos maintains that his programs are used by Universities abroad.
Masonry
Many Masons go to church frequently, though they regard Jesus Christ not as the real God, but as a "wise teacher", an incarnation of Buddha, similar to... Apollo and to Masons themselves. TGAOTU (The Great Architect of the Universe), the "God" that Masons worship, is Bafomet (Lucifer), but this is not revealed to them from the beginning. The Orthodox Church of Greece has condemned Masonry in 1933, 1976 and recently, explaining that Masonry is an occult religion, a successor of ancient pagan religions, and that being a Mason is incompatible with being an Orthodox Christian.
Through
its members, Masonry acts internationally at all political, financial and
religious levels, aiming at a New World Order. Masonry teaches that its
own ethics is superior to Christian ethics; in Masonry we find ceremonies
for baptism, wedding, funeral and memorial (things that constitute a religion),
and considers as sacrilegious all those who don't belong to its lodges.
Women are accepted only in some French lodges. Rotary International, Lions
International, Boyscouts, YMCA and other organizations, are in fact an
ante-room to Masonry.
The teaching of Masonry is secret and serious revelations are offered at higher levels.
Jehovah's Witnesses (Watchtower Society)
This organization started as a publishing company founded by Charles Taze Russell, who was a Mason and promoted Zionism. When Russell died, J. Rutherford took over, changing completely Russell's teachings.
Watchtower Society has repeatedly prophesied the Doomsday (in 1974, 1975 and at other times) and has issued an adulterated version of the Holy Scripture (New World Translation, NWT).
Watchtower Society applies brain washing, terrorizes its victims and turns them into unpaid book sellers. Jehovah's witnesses expect a "New Age" too, believing that it's Jehovah's (millennial) world state, that will be established when... Christ eliminates the faithless people (those who are not JWs) at Armageddon. Then, says the organization, the "Witnesses" will wash their feet in the blood of their enemies (!) and after that they will live for 1,000 years "in heaven on earth".
Watchtower
Society appears itself as a God's representative on earth, and claims that
all governments must yield power to it. It teaches that Jesus was only
a man, not a man-god, that the Holy Ghost is not a person, that there is
no life after death, that demons had sexual relations with women (!) and
other monstrous doctrines, so it is characterized as a panheresy.
A
victim of the "Watchtower Society" offers "pure worship to Jehovah",
i.e.
he sells the books of this organization without getting paid.
Mormons (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints)
This
is a very rich American organization, based on the "Eternal Gospel" which
was "revealed" by a demon who called himself Moroni. The cult forgets that
apostle Paul anathematizes whoever teaches "another Gospel", whether a
man or an angel. Mormons consider women as inferior to men, use polygamy
and keep systematically files on people all over the world. They expect
that Christ will apply a millennial kingdom in America, founding a New
Age. There are also many other schismatic groups of Mormons.

It is the new Takis Alexiou's mask (his former masks were the "Roumi Commission" and "PANIFE" - "Pan-Hellenic Historical and Philosophical Society"). Alexiou is a leader of occult groups, a sheikh of the "Mevlevi" Muslim order and an agent of foreign secret agencies.
As has been proved by District
Attorney I. Angelis's report, he collaborates with Scientology. He accuses
the Anti-Heretic Bureau of the Orthodox Church for the benefit of Scientology,
and he is concerned with imaginary "transgressions of human rights", especially
in the border area of Thrace. Followers of Takis Alexiou are accused of
proselytism on this area.
DARK ALLIANCES
Among these organizations there is a collaboration, although their followers may ignore the fact. Some organizations adulterate the Orthodox morale (Osiris Isis, Coffee school and others), while others pervade in business and politics (Scientology - U-MAN Hellas and others), yet others prepare a chaos (Hare Krishna) and some train those who will take over after this chaos (New Citadel). The followers, who are emotionally connected to these groups, are not able to conceive the whole plan, while they often consider their group as a good one, and other groups as evil and suspicious! When the cults want to attack the Church, they band together, as happened recently in Russia, where ISKCON, Watchtower Society, Scientology, Moonies and many others established the "Commission for the protection of freedom of conscience", and sued Russian Orthodox Church and University professor Dworkin on the grounds of slandering (the accusers lost the trial as well as the appeal).
A tendency for the formation
of alliances has been observed in Greece too; between 30-1 and 1-12-1996
as well as recently, New Age cults and groups organized a symposium at
a known hotel, on the subject "The spiritual quest as the third millennium
approaches".
THE RIGHT POSITION AND THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF ALL OF US
We Greeks must be very careful with such groups, which mostly use lies to cover their real intentions. The members of these cults are victims of proselytism, they are lost sheep that Christ seeks to cure, not to beat. They are often trapped just because they have noble aspirations and pure intentions. Furthermore they are misled because we Christians do not behave with love, while the proselytizers pretend that they love people and care about their problems (which are aften serious and start from family), and that they have solutions to these problems.
