The Truth Behind Funimation

Funimation... You either love it or hate it. But whatever your opinion on
it is, there is no doubt that they have expanded DragonBall's popularity
among the preteen crowd. Let us start off with the brief history of the
company that made DragonBall a household name in North America.
Before they acquired DragonBall Z, Funimation was virtually unknown.
Nothing that they had done was of much significance. But, in 1996,
they acquired the rights to DragonBall in North America. At first. they
dubbed DragonBall, but it was a failure and they stopped. Then,
they started dubbing DragonBall Z, it was a failure when it started out.
However, some time later, they started airing it on Cartoon Network
as a part of Toonami. It was a hit. The show quickly became the
most popular show Cartoon Network had. A while later, Funimation
released the fourth season to the series, the entire Cell Saga. The
show's popularity boomed even more, it made the dubbies happy
and gave the subbies something to rant about. Funimation now
has made themselves famous, the dubbing company to a massive
hit show. Soon, they will be releasing the Buu Saga, which will
help to fill their pockets even more. Most would think that their
ambitions are the same as Toriyama's once were before he became
corrupt, but there is much behind this little company that has remained
unknown. Until now...

Outrage won't help you either.

The TRUTH

Funimation, Toriyama's link to the North American market. They alone have
succeeded to convert millions of children and even many adults and teens, to
the DB religion headed by Toriyama. Why are they doing this you might ask?
Because they are a part of Toriyama's empire. They act a a front, toning down
the series for children while not revealing to the subbies that it is all intentional
and headed by their beloved mangaka. Before Toriyama 'acquired' them, they
were a little company, nothing much to mention about them until... Toriyama
made the decision to use a small company to do the dubbing and handling
of the episodes for the younger audience. The other part of their job is testing
the subbies devotion to Toriyama. By making the show crappy in the eyes of
the subbies, they learn from the subbie's responses how far they are willing
to go to defend their show. And through this they have discovered that DB
fans are the most vicious of people out there. Proving that they will form a
formidable army when it comes time to take over. But when will this happen?
Where will it happen? Only time will tell.
