------The Albion Hotel is located on 2nd & Ocean Avenues. It was built around 1940 and was hailed as an example of modern architecture at the time. Each room had it's own television, telephone, bath, private terrace, and individually controlled air-conditioning. The hotel had a swimming pool, an air-conditioned coffee shop and restaurant, banquet facilities that held 50 - 300 people, a catering hall, and free parking at your door. The Rainbow Room was a night club that opened in the mid-1950's and closed in the late 1960's or early 1970's.The Asbury Park Historical Society is currently trying to save the building from being demolished.
