Down the
Street

------Down the Street was a gay nightclub
that was located at 230 Cookman Avenue (the green building on the right).
It's on the same block as Palace Amusements and next door to Park Cinema,
an adult movie theater. Down the Street was supposedly the most happening
gay nightclub along the central New Jersey coastline. Open for 11 years,
it closed it's doors on October 1, 1999 after another gay nightclub called
Paradise opened about a block away.
