Russell Jones Sensei
My First Real Teacher
Russell Jones Sensei (RJS) was and is my primary
teacher and I owe him a debt that I can never repay for his careful guidance
and teaching. He currently holds the rank of Go Dan (5th degree black
belt) in Ki-Aikido and Chuden in Ki Development. Starting in 1977
with Kashiwaya
Sensei at Rocky Mountain Ki Society, RJS became Kashiwaya Sensei's
longest Uchi Deshi; studying as an Uchi Deshi from roughly 1978 to sometime
in 1984. Jones Sensei has also spent significant time in Japan studying
under the founder of our style, Koichi Tohei Sensei.
Jones Sensei founded the Denver branch dojo of RMKS and now resides in
Floranopolis, Brasil with his wife Lael Keen Sensei and their daughter Jasmina.
Jones Sensei and Keen Sensei make annual trips to the US for business reasons,
to visit family and of course to give seminars on Ki and Ki-Aikido.
