While Aikido is not a religion
it is a way of life.
Below are links to ways of
thought and religions that guide many of us.
Indexes
Religious
Tolerance : This is one of the best sites on religion and systems
of ethical thought I have found on the web. I highly recommend this
for those who consider themselves seekers and for general information on
belief systems.
Shinto
The native religion of Japan
and a foundation of the principles in Aikido.
Shinto
Information : Basic information on Shinto and its part in Japanese
culture and beyond.
Buddhism
Often mistakenly assumed to
be a part of Aikido but is a different system of thought having no basis
in Aikido. Buddhism does, however have some parallels to Shintoism
and exists side by side with Shinto in Japan.
Buddha
Net : An information network on Buddhism and of insight meditation
in particular.
Buddha's
Village : This site concerns Mahayana Tibetan Buddhism.
A tribute
to Rumi : This is one site with a lot of Rumi's poetry.
If you are interested in Rumi I strongly suggest looking into Coleman Bark's
recordings and translations.
