Rivers Past, Present and In the Future

In the past few years myself and my fellow adventurers have tubed many a river, these Include:

The Macalister River

The Mitta Mitta River

The Thompson River

The Tanjil River

The Jamieson, Delatite, Howqua and King River

Always we are planning to do more rivers. Some rivers which we hope to do some time this year are:

The Avon River

p Located in Alpine country around Mount Wellington north of Maffra. Another of the many great rivers in Victorias Gippsland region. While it is raftable from The Channels to Lake Wellington the best section and the section we are planning to do is a 7-8km section from The Channels to Wombat Flats. This section when the river is above 2.5m (measured at The Channels) becomes a good grade 4 trip. We're watching the river height in avid anticipation.

The Thompson River

While we probably won't do much of this river again this year, as they will not be releasing terribly much water down it for a while. If the river height rises we plan to do the section from Thompson dam wall to the Walhala road bridge. As well as any other section we have a hankering to do.

The Tanjil River

As we now know how to get out of the river before Blue Rock Dam we will do this river a few times in the comming months, as it is a good easy river for those who are beginning tyre tubing.

The Macalister River

We plan to do the river in flood this year.

The Mitchell River

This river has many good rapids, which whenever we get the time, we hope to be able to do.

The Mitta Mitta River

What can I say? I love this river. We plan to do this one a few times in late September early October, when it's about 1.2-1.4 meters in height.

The Franklin River

Hopefully sometime in early December. What can one say about the Franklin? It's in Tasmania and it's basically one of the worlds best rafting rivers.
