Belmont Hill School Sailing Team

The 1998 Belmont Hill Sailing Team consisted of 14 sailors from Massachusetts. Primarily sophomores, the team finished 15th at the National High School Fleet Racing Championships held at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut.

Meet the Team
|
|
Although the team hasn't started practice yet this spring, the team is getting ready for an exceptional season. During the past summer, the team members raced competitively all over the nation. Two members from the team qualified for the Bemis, the Junior National Doublehanded Championships and placed 3rd and 5th. Another sailor was quite successful in laser radials this past summer, and it was only his first year racing them competitively. This past fall, several team members participated in an event with other high school teams, and dominated it.
The entire team was excited this past week after hearing an announcement that more than 10 7th-9th graders showed up at an informational meeting. This bodes well for the future of Belmont Hill Sailing. We hope to begin practicing as a team starting Monday, March 8.
