The
Group Muzenza was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1972, with Paulo Sérgio da Silva
(Mestre Paulão) as founder, who came from Grupo Capoarte de Obaluaê of Mestre Mintirinha.
The Muzenza group developed it's work with methodologies and philosophies of its
own..
In 1975, another nucleus of Muzenza group is founded in Curitiba, Paraná,
starting a work devoted to the roots of capoeira, implanting that modality in
clubs, poor communities, Universities, squadrons, black communities, etc...
Today, the Muzenza group, the biggest group of all, is present in many cities of
Brazil and other Nations (about 27), never forgetting to seek the roots of
capoeira throughout a lot of research and trying to preserve capoeira Angola and
Regional and the respect and valuation towards the older Master.
Nowadays the fight of the group e against one of the biggest tragedies of
humanity, with the slogan: CAPOEIRA vs HUNGER, by
organizing philanthropic events.
