2nd Dixie Excalibur Rover Crew
All of us register and reside in the charming city of Mississauga
We go to moots, generally 3 or 4 a year...particularly Hallowe'en Moot in Burford and Attawanderonk at Everton Scout Reserve. (and we're still not liking that hill they got)
So, allow us to introduce ourselves....
Our crew consists of the following members:
web torch
Jeff Currey, Scribe![]()
Jeff is also a Troop counselor, and a Venturer advisor with 23rd Mississauga. Currently Jeff is carrying the torch passed to him by Angla as the new webmaster. Angela has since moved on to other projects but forever will be remembered in our hearts (and we still see her at the moots)
Brandon Gallant.
Rather than risk loosing Brandon from the movement when his Venture company folded (yea like Brandon would ever leave scouting) we brought him into the crew a year early
Val Lay, Newly appointed Mate
Val has taken up the position of mate in the group over the summer she went on a school related trip to Paraguay..and when she gets a chance will provide us with her enjoyable stories of her experience
Stephanie Desmond
Stephanie was brought in by Brandon whom she has known since they were both really little. One of Stephanie's hobbies includes drawing comic books (look for her work appearing here someday...maybe....hopefully if we can convince her to share it with us *G*
Lee Mawbey-Puglia
Lee bounced around a bit with groups before finding his way to us. He was brought into the group after spending his last year in Venturers in the company Jeff is an advisor for.
Advisors Without them we would not have the crew so they get their own section on the page.....(and it makes them feel important)
George Chapman, Advisor George supplies the toys so we can play (but still hasn't managed to learn how to send email!) Keeps us on the straight and narrow...well, he tries to.
Gerry Preyde, Asst. Advisor Chief menu-planner....Gerry is the one who provides us with the wholesome food to keep us going through the day (and when she's not looking we pile on the junk food to keep us going through the night) Gerry's also the Area Commissioner for White Oaks Area Girl Guides. Busy is Gerry's middle name.
Alumnus A few of the past members of the crew who have moved on to other things. We still see some of them now and then.
Shawn Drew, Alumnus Shawn is one of the original members...so we let him stay. He brought Mic in to the crew, and married her Sept 6/97. Now that was a party!
Angela De Jong, Webmistress. Alumnus. Resident pyromaniac. Assistant Advisor to 4th Clarkson "Woodsmen" Venturers. And, as if that didn't make her crazy enough, Ang is a high school teacher, and manages to meet up with students at most events.
Daryn Rabb, Alumnus Advisor to 4CV with Ang. In real life, Daryn has been known to drive BIG trucks all over the U.S., but right now he's telling them all where to go.
Michelle Drew, Alumnus First female member...got us cleaned up at camp. Met Angela the hard way in Brownies many, many years ago...but still didn't want anyone else as a Maid of Honour.
Rob Potter, Alumnus Much too busy to do anything with us, but he's still one of us...besides, we like going to his trailer & playing with his boat!
Anton Sandrasekara, Rover. Anton's a student at Chinguacousy S.S. in Brampton (and has a bunch of Angela's teachers). Anton's originally from Sri Lanka and recently learned how to roller skate (and he only fell 5 times!)
Cecelia Lay, Rover. C.C. for short. Here's a weird twist of fate...Angela was C.C.'s Grade 9 science teacher. Oh, and she just loves the song, "Cecelia, you're breaking my heart!"...NOT! (and she barely survived the winter sacrifice...SSHHH!)
