The numismatics is the art to collect and to catalogue currencies, as well as philatelia is for the stamps.
Thanks to the numismatics, interesting characteristics of a country, region,
republic, etc, can be known. For example, the denomination (the value
coined in the currency) and also several changes of monetary units in small periods, can show how big were the economic problems.
The same material of which the currency or ticket is made can give interesting
information (did you know that there were porcelain coins, or banknotes made with a deck of cards?).
So, the numismatics is one of my favorite hobbies more; right now,
I have a collection of more than 2400 coins and 295 bank notes
of more than 150 states & countries.
In fact, I find it more interesting than as common collecting as the one of stamps, mainly by the fragility of these (despite with the bank notes are even...). In any case, I believe that this type of hobby has a very special spell...
At left, a small part of my colection. I've divided the archives by groups
of countries, thus to have a greater order, and so that you can see the
pages with greater comfort when exploring. The descriptions included in
this following pages are only in spanish, by the moment (If you can't see the frame, please click HERE).
You can also find interesting information about this hobby, including coin software, some
links and also my own list of traders.
Enjoy this page!
With time, I hope to be adding information related to the numismatic hobby, my personal collection, plus some images of coins and bills. As they will be able to see, I have added a good amount of images; it can that some are not seen well... It's a matter of resolution of my part, reason why I will have to renew those photos.
