Welcome to the INDEPENDENT ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS - BORIKEN #1 LODGE of PUERTO RICO's web site. This lodge was created during 1999 with the help of several of the Florida, New Jersey and New York Lodges of the IOOF. It was founded on November 6, 1999, when initiation ceremonies were celebrated at the Logia Masónica de San Juan.
Several important members from the Grand Lodge IOOF of New Jersey (#745 and #746), and from the IOF Hispano America Lodge #233 were present at the ceremonies, as well as officers of The Sovereign Grand Lodge of the IOOF. On such occasion, several members were also initiated in a most solemmn of ceremonies.

All members received their Third Grade Distinction at the ceremonies, which were administered by the New Jersey brothers. Afterwards, a social activity was enjoyed by all present, where inmediate friendships were made between the new members and those visitors from the mainland.
