The Krohn Family Website
the Krohn coat of arms is registered in

Germany
in several periods through the latest 500 years
the oldest version I am aware of is dated in year
1470. The writing is old german and reads "better a small master then a large servant "
Siebmachers Wappenbuch - a very large encyl.-
opedia of German coat of arms through the centuries
keeps it registered - and shown - both in the old
version and also registered in 17th century in
the Prussian area.
The registration is under the name Krohn or Krahn = which is similar - Krahn is the old German
name for the bird crane - the letter a was in north
Germany pronounced as a letter o - and so came the change.
The figure on it is a crane with one feet lifted in
which it holds a stone = this is has the symbolic
meaning of "Vigilance" and is earliest described
so by Aristotle's in Historia Animalium - in the
ancient Greek. - its told when the crane fell asleep
it would loose the stone over the other foot and
therefore wake up again.
Folklore has it that originaly we were called VON CRANICH in ca. 1300AD
We were RAUBRITTER in den bezirk Brandenburg, and even to day there is a town called KROHN west of Berlin.
Our crest has a Knight helmet with 2 red and 1 silver feathers in the center.
surrounded by ostrich feathers
red and blue back ground with a crown ... ROYALTY
The Cranes mating sound... ...K-Rohn (not kay-rohn) hence the name Krohn
Scull and cross bones... (Raub Ritter= Robbing Knights...In folks saga.)
USA equal to the IRS. and CIA all in one with a license to kill
We were to collect TAX and TOLL from the passing merchants. If they did not Pay up
