Curricular Subjects

The number and variety of courses and languages taught in the school is indeed very vast. The Primary School consists of the 1st to the 4th grades, after which, from the 5th to the 10th grades, the students are transferred to the Secondary Section. For the primary section, the languages taught are:

English
Marathi
Hindi

English and Marathi education begins right from the first grade, while Hindi is introduced in the last two years of primary school. Apart from these main languages, are the important foundation subjects of:

Mathematics
Environmental Science
History
Geography

For the first and the second grade, the courses of Mathematics and Environmental Science and introduced, and from the third grade onwards start the instruction of History and Geography.

The Secondary Section is where the complete education begins. Various new subjects are introduced, along with many extra-curricular subjects and activities. The Primary School subjects are channelised into subjects dealing with the details of the original course. Below is the full course of curricular subjects for the secondary section.

English and Marathi are the compulsory languages, while, from the 8th grade, the students have the choice of chosing their third language either as Hindi, Sanskrit, Hindi-Sanskrit composite or French. The choice of Sanskrit is available for the Marathi medium only while the option of French is thus available for the English medium only. The composite languages and complete Hindi are open to both media. Science 1 includes Physics and inorganic Chemistry, while Science 2 includes Biology and physical Chemistry. Geography is supplemented with Economics while Political Science forms a part of Civics.

Extra-Curricular Subjects and Activities

Apart from the choice of languages and large number of courses, the school also has a bountiful of extra-curricular activities to offer to the students. For the Primary and the Secondary sections together, are the choices of:

 o Work Experience
 o Sewing
 o Painting
 o Craft
 o Cultural Activities: rangoli, karate, rifle-shooting, music, drama, the Science and Nature Clubs, public speaking, etc.
 o Girl Guide or Social Service
 o M.C.C (Maharashtra Cadet Corps)
 o Home Science or Food-Nutrition

The activities of Work Experience, Sewing, Painting and Craft are available for the students of the Primary Section, the Cultural Activities for the Junior High School level (5th to 7th grades) and Girl Guide, Social Service, M.C.C and Home Science are available for the Senior Secondary Section (8th to 10th grades). These activities are included in the school hours and usually take place twice a week.
