18. We bear whose name? (Acts 9:15).
19. We are willing to die for whose name? (Acts 21:13).
20. Our enemies fight against whose name? (Acts 26:9).
21. We are called and identified in whose name? (Acts 11:26).
22. We call upon whose name? (Acts 9:14; Rom 10:9,13; 1 Cor 1:2).
23. We hold fast to whose name? (Rev 2:13).
24. We pray to the Father in whose name? (John 14:13-14; 15:16; 16:23-24,26; Eph 5:20).
25. All we do is done in whose name? (Col 3:17).
26. The Holy Ghost is sent in whose name? (John 14:26).
27. Everyone will bend their knee and bow at the mention of whose name? (Phil 2:10).
There is nothing in the NT that identifies Jehovah as the recipient of these honors, only Jesus. The only way out of this conflict is if Jehovah and Jesus are the same being. This study has demonstrated very clearly and methodically the OT Jehovah (YHWH) and the NT Jesus are the same being. I can’t help but be impressed with the frequency and variety the name of Jesus is used in the NT. Can Jehovah’s Witnesses truthfully claim all these items are viewed by their church as solely applicable to Jesus instead of to Jehovah? Their exaltation of the name “Jehovah” over “Jesus” precludes an affirmative answer.
The word “YHWH” is absent in all NT manuscripts except a couple used by certain strict Jewish-Christian groups who insisted on following the Mosaic Law. “ Jesus Christ” is the only name that is given prominence in the NT. This name is supposed to be the most important name there is both on earth and in heaven (Matt 7:22; 10:22; 18:5,20; 19:29; 24:9; 1 Cor 1:2; Eph 1:20-21; Phil 2:9-10; Heb 1:4) and he has pre-eminence over all things (John 3:31; Rom 9:5; Eph 1:20-21; 4:10; Col 1:17-18; D&C 63:59; 88:41). Obviously, if Jesus and Jehovah are two separate beings, there would be a conflict between the Old and New Testaments.
