PART 3: CONCLUSION
This study has demonstrated the “God” the OT Israelites worshiped (YHWH) is the same entity who was born of Mary two thousand years ago who is known as Jesus Christ.
Jesus and Jehovah are the same being!
This doesn’t mean Heavenly Father isn’t “Jehovah” since the Bible shows he is.
The Bible has over a hundred and sixty passages that show Jesus and Jehovah are the same being and has around five that can be used to show Jesus is a separate being from Jehovah.
Of course, it is freely admitted that an isolation of the OT texts would have a very hard time concluding that it teaches two separate “Jehovah”s (YHWH) even with the existence of Zech 2:8-11; Gen 19:24 & Ex 23:20-25 since the vast majority of passages describes Jehovah as solitary. The “two Jehovahs” can only be done by utilizing the NT texts and paralleling them with various OT passages. Those who accept the NT as the Word of God and accept what it says about the person of Jesus Christ are obligated to accept the fact that the NT as a whole teaches that Jesus was the pre-mortal Jehovah in addition to being the Son of Jehovah.
Just as a father and son can both be called “Doctor” if both are doctors, likewise can both God the Father and God the Son be called “Jehovah” and “God.”
Jehovah’s Witnesses and others may not like it, but the Scriptures are clear that Jesus is “Jehovah” as well as the “Son of Jehovah.”
If we don’t honor Jesus as Jehovah (the I AM [Ego Eimi]), we will die in our sins (John 8:24). Clearly, the consequences of rejecting Jesus as Jehovah carry a judgment that can’t be lightly dismissed by anyone.
I am so grateful for my membership in the true church. I testify to all that Jesus is Jehovah as well as the Son of Jehovah and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I invite all to join it to receive the full blessings God wishes to give those who strive to obey his will.
