ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Above all, I express my gratitude to Heavenly Father for guiding and teaching me what his Scriptures mean and for enlightening me concerning his doctrines and church. It isn't possible for a person such as myself to write this book without God's direction since I am not capable of doing so. May all the glory and honor be his; not mine since he really is responsible for all Truths that are within the MORMONISM Series. On the other hand, I willingly take responsibility for any errors that may exist within this work.
I would also like to express my gratitude to those who actively fight against the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their arguments and references were visibly flawed that I was intrigued by their illogicality and deception, which stimulated me to research the Scriptures. If it weren't for them, this work could never have been conceptualized; much less created.
The works of numerous biblical scholars (identified in the Abbreviations) have all contributed in varying degrees to the creation of this work. Their Bible Dictionaries, Bible Commentaries, Hebrew-English and Greek-English Lexicons have been invaluable aids in ensuring my research is accurate. Despite I disagree with some when they come to conclusions on certain issues due to unwarranted assumptions, on the whole, their works have been invaluable. I am also most indebted to Craig A. Evans for his work, Noncanonical Writings and New Testament Interpretation.
The advent of cd-roms and biblical research software have revolutionized biblical study. I am most indebted to: The LDS Collectors Library `97 from Infobases; Bibleworks 3.5 from Hermeneutika; PC Study Bible 2.1D from Biblesoft; and the Sage Digital Library from Sage Software.
I'm merely a boy sitting on the shoulders of the brilliant works of those who've gone on before. Such a perch with modern tools makes me see farther than them and my familiarity with the Latter-day Scriptures,1 has given me a standard to measure biblical doctrines against, giving intelligibility and consistency to the Bible's teachings.
I acknowledge the tremendous help of “The WORD. The Bible From 26 Translations.” Finally, I also acknowledge the indispensable help the Anchor Bible Dictionary has given me in ensuring my work adheres to legitimate biblical research and conclusions, and for supplying additional information pertinent to these books.2
[ENDNOTES]:
1.The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has three other books aside from the Holy Bible (HB) that are accepted as Scripture. They are the Book of Mormon (BM), the Doctrine and Covenants (D&C) and the Pearl of Great Price (PGP). Despite the ancientness of some of these books, I consider it appropriate to refer to them as “Latter-day Scripture” due to the fact that they have only come to light in the 19th century through the prophet Joseph Smith.
2.The ABD is the best biblical research tool I've seen. Others works that I highly recommend that would be of great help to the student of the Bible would be the TDNT, TDOT, EDNT, NIDNTT, BAGD, GELNT-SD, JBC, BDBGHEL, TWOT, GECNT, SECB, IBD, DB and some good Bible-study software like Bible Works or the PC Study Bible.
