This book, MORMONISM. The Faith of the Twenty-first Century. Volume 1 is the first of an eight-volume set that examines and explains all aspects of perhaps the most colorful and vibrant of the major faiths in the US. No other faith is as slandered, misunderstood or is as prominent as Mormonism and no other faith has contributed more to the well-being of the United States by its creation of over 400 towns and cities that linked the Eastern states with the Pacific territories.
Mormonism has the potential to have over one billion members by the end of the 21st century which will make it as large as Roman Catholicism or Islam today. What accounts for its spectacular growth and why is it so appealing? What prompts over 50,000 of its young men and women (ages 19-21) to leave home and school for a year and a half or two years, go to a place they've never been before, try to convert others and not receive a dime for their effort but pay their own way?
This book explains why. It is the first and only encyclopedic examination of the Mormon concepts of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and indeed, is unique in all of Christian literature in its comprehensiveness and magnitude. Not only
does it give all the scriptural passages Mormons use to justify and defend their faith; it also identifies and explains all the passages used by those who oppose Mormonism and furnishes the logical reasons behind certain Mormon beliefs that aren't derived from the Scriptures.
Exceptional features of this work are the ease one has in understanding each chapter since it avoids a high scholastic writing style and is replete with changing fonts, sizes and formats to capture the attention of "skimmers." It also has a massive Scripture Reference Guide and Index containing well over ten thousand references, and literally thousands of scholastic references in its
endnotes, 98% of which derive from non-Mormon scholars, making it the "perfect library book."
The book is 622 pages, hardcover, with a stitched and glued spine. Its dimensions are 9 x 6 x 13/4 inches. It retails for $39.95 US or 49.95 Cdn at bookstores throughout North America.
