***Instructions***
Well, 90% of the work was finding the materials, so I'll start there.
Originally, I was thinking of buying the pipe, along with other parts, at Home Depot. I never got around to doing this, which turned out well. Anyway, one day my family was going Garage Sailing and I discovered a chrome pipe, which came with:
*Two rubber endcaps
*Two Metal Rings
*Two PVC Caps
I bought this, which cost me a dollar and having to stand a few bad jokes about pipebombs.
Anyway, later that day we headed out to a thrift store (my family's cheap) and I found the black part near the front. I'm not exactly sure what it was, but it looked like part of a shampoo vacuum cleaner. I bought this, which cost me a whopping nickel. Later that day, I discovered a mousepad, which I turned into he grip.
I sanded off some instructions that were on the shampoo vacuum part, drilled four holes in the PVC endcap, screwed in three screws on the side of the saber, then took the whole thing apart and spraypainted the plastic parts black.
Once the paint dried, I put it back together, gluing the PVC endcap to the bottom. I glued the grip on, but it didn't look too good. I ended up covering it with electrical tape to give it the appearance of leather bands. Once I had done this, I glued the rubber endcap on the end of the saber where the blade would come out. Ta-Da! Instant LightSaber!
However, I was still missing a ring to attach to the end. Later, while I was looking through a craft store, I discovered a large ring used to hold up display boards. They let me have it for free! When I got home, I attached it to the black part near the end of the saber, which ended up looking cooler than it would have. In the end, the saber cost me only $1.05!
Well, that's about it. If I make any more sabers, I'll e-mail you.
