I am the granddaughter of Solomon Aussie Pruett, born Aug. 12, 1903 in

Kennett, Missouri. Solomon's father was Cassa Bianca Pruett, born Feb.

20, 1850 in Humphreys Co., TN. Cassa married three times.

Cassa married Aily Cude (1848-Bef. 1884) in 1869.

Their children were: Arvena E. (1871)

Sintha E. (1873)

Albert L. (1876)

Lilly M. (1878)

Cassa married Mattie Nora Watson (March 1870- Bef. 1901) on March 18,

1884 at his home in Kennett, Missouri. Their children were:

William A. (Aug. 1885)

Rose E. (Oct. 1886)

James Alfred (May 11, 1888)

Luther B. (Jan. 1, 1891)

Girty E. (Sept. 1892)

Max Miller (Dec. 31, 1893)

Mattie N. (Sept. 1895)

Dovey L. (Jan. 1898)

Unknown Child (?)

Cassa married Dora Lillard Hampton (b. 1878) in 1901 in Missouri. Their

children were:

Ott

Solomon Aussie (Aug. 12, 1903)

Walter (March 27, 1904)

Leona (1905)

C. B. (Aft. 1903)

I am very interested in C. B. Pruett. The C. B. might stand for Cassa

Bianca, Jr. My grandmother said that he left a wife and two sons in

Missouri and was not ever heard from again. Around 1958, he sent my aunt

a graduation present and the return address was somewhere in California.

My grandparents hired a private investigator to track him down in the

late 1960's. They never could determine where he was or if he was dead

or alive. I would really like to find out information about him, since

it is possible that he is still alive. If anyone has any information

about any of Solomon Aussie's siblings, I would greatly appreciate your

help. Thank you.

I am completely stumped on the Pruitts of my husband's family. They lived

in western North Carolina, around the Chimney Rock area, and also in

Spartanburg County, SC, between Spartanburg and Inman. I only have one Pruitt

name: Peter Amerine Pruitt, who married Anna Jane Brown. Peter was born in

Spartanburg County around 1854 and died in October 1927. Other families that

intermarried with these Pruitts are Hilton and Harrison. Anna Jane's father's

name was John Brown and he either lived in the Old Fort or Bat Cave regions of

North Carolina.

Peter's mother was possibly named Rebecca Elizabeth Bragg. She came from

Ireland and was raised in the same region of Spartanburg County.

I would be most grateful for any leads on this family that anyone has.

Dear Karen,

I think that we have a connection since Pruitt, Young and Blevins fit. I'm not

sure the best way to proceed but this is some of the "quite a bit" that I

know.

Robert Young b 27 Jun 1791, VA to William Young Sr. and Elizabeth (2nd

marriage) married Diona Pruitt ?on date and place. Diona died after 1844 and

before 1847 probably in Jackson County. (no proof on place)

Children: Harvey, Pleasant (male), Thurza married Ezekial Blevins 13 Jan 1833

Lafayette Co, MO, Mahala married Stephen Blevins 20 Feb 1833 Lafayette Co MO.,

Louvinia, Joseph, Richard P., Diona, Mary "Polly". The women who married

Blevins stayed in Lafayette Co MO. Most of the rest, including Robert, went in

the Young/Pruitt wagon train to OR in 1847.

William Young Sr. died Oct 1821 in Lafayette Co MO and had in addition to

Robert, as in his estate, James, John and William Jr.

Does any of this give a fit. If not, perhaps in another thread.

We could possibly exchange discs (I do not have a scanner) or I can make some

hard copy. Xeroxing at .05 a page is very close at hand and they see a lot of

me at that hardward store.

I'm most pleased to hear from you. Let's continue this conversation.

Myra, Just did some checking before I have to join the real world of

housecleaing. If nothing else, your mother and mine were born the same year

and both in Texas County, Mo. Pearlie Mae in September and your mother in

December. I do believe this is the group of Pruetts I will find a

connection with. I know that Great Uncle George did go live with Lewis

Pruett (isn't there a connection with Mary Ann there?Mtn.View area and

such?) Anyway, my mother said Lewis always said they were not related. But

Mom's sister Lula said they were. She(Lula) had more contact with the

Pruett family than my mom. I do believe I'm on the right track so will work

in bits and pieces as I have had to do since I collected most of my

information in 1988-89. Unfortunately, Aunt Lula is dead now, and that is

where I got what little input I have. It has taken me 10 years to

accumulate what little I have, and now thanks to my iMac and people like

you, I have vast information at my finger tips!

Myra: Sorry for the confusion! My mother is Pearlie Mae (New) Berry. Her

Father was Enoch New. Her mother was Laura Belle Pruett.

Grandfather E. New's mother was Isabelle Boone from Harrison county,KY. I

have the workup of the Boone family starting with the migration from

England, tracing them on to KY. Isabelle Boone was born in 1835, married

Tom Wells, They had one son Daniel Wells born in KY in 1861. Isabelle's

first husband, Tom, was "bushwacked" during the Civil War. She later

married Henry New in KY and they had one son, Enoch New. They traveled to

Texas county MO to join other Boone family members. Ggrandfather, Henry New

is buried at the Clear Springs Church Cemetery, Texas county, MO.

Ggrandmother

Isabelle died in 1913 and was buried in the Howell County State Farm

Cemetery, near West Plains, MO.

So, to answer yor question, my mother is a New, Parents being Enoch NEW and

Laura Belle PRUETT>>>>my but this does get complicated. But then, I

have always loved a good mystery!

Than you again for all the infomation you have available and your time.

Im' sure we are related. If for no other reason than the tenacity to stay

with this search with so little to go on. Also, while looking through the

infor I printed form your site, I noticed the Pruett's were big on using the

sames names through out the family. How many Isaacs?? Your Uncle comes to

mind. Cecil Pruett that was married to my Aunt Mary Jane real name was Isaac

Esau Pruett, but went by the name Cecil. His Grandaughter Brenda said he

signed all legal papers L. E. Pruett. All these little things that one

needs to know when looking. We are having a little family reunion in Willow

Springs, MO the 12th 0f June. My mother is the only living sibling and I

thought it would be a good thing for her. She is getting pretty excited. I

posted my grandparents Marriage Certificate on the Texas County page

http://www.rootsweb.com/~motexas/texindex.htm. Received 4 e-mails asking

for information . A lot of us out there who want to know more about the

Pruetts. One lady even asked if I had any information about the Holder that

I had listed as a signature on the cetificate. All I could tell her was

______Holder was the minister that married my grandparents. But, the time

and place was more than she had before. Maybe she can now check other

records. Hope it will help. One that asked about any info on Pruetts was

looking for the John Peter Pruett family. Her grandmother was Mary Frances

Pruett, and her mother thought some of the names in the family were Barney,

Tillie and Tildon. I remembered the names Tildon and Barney. Tildon's son

Jackie was 4 or 5 years older than me and he stayed with us one summer for 2

or 3 weeks. He lived in Kansas somewhere. He is dead now. Then today,

going through some pictures I brought home I found a snapshot of Tildon, my

Aunt Tillie New Presser and my brother Ralph. I'm sure it was taken out at

the old Clear Springs homestead where Tille and Clarence lived. Long story

sort, Karen's query about Mary Frances Pruett lead us to discover we are

related, and that my Aunt Tillie's grandson is married to her 2nd cousin.

And her mother is one of my mother's friends and they

used to talk almost daily before Sarah had to go to the nursing home in

Mtn. View. And through all this Karen and I had never met.

I need help trying to find out anything on my 2nd great grandmother,

Melinda Pruitt.

She was b ca 1845 in either KY or TN. She married George Hyden (I don't

know when or where). The only Melinda I've been able to find was on the

1850 Whitley Co, KY census pg 371 in the household of her father and sibs.

John Pruit 45, Mary 11, Jemima 9, Melinda 7 and Julia ? 5 all b:KY. Also

included probably John's mother, Jemima Prewitt 75 b:VA. Strangely on pg

372 appears to be the same family listed as John Prewet 45, Mary 12, Jemima

8, Melinda 5, Julia 3 all b:NC and Jemima 75 b:VA. (Probably as mistake)

Does anyone have any information on this family. Appreciate anything at

all. Radine
