Shanti Ashram was founded by Swami Omkar. Although the ashram maintains several schools, a hospital, and other services, it is basically contemplative. There are a number of devotees who have retired here for a spiritual life. The ashram is not part of a particular sect or religion nor does it have a specific living guru. It welcomes all sincere spiritual seekers
It is located in south India a short distance from the coast. Located in a rural area the ashram is a perfect place for a quiet retreat. One can make a quiet retreat and also, if desired, take part in daily prayers and devotions. Shanti Ashram is, however, not a tourist site. Although the food is good and the accommodations adequate, a person expecting deluxe accommodations will be disappointed.
If you are a sincere spiritual seeker you are invited to contact the ashram to arrange a visit.
