The Lion King is Disney's 32nd Animated Feature film...It made it's screen debut to cinema's on June 24th 1994, and was released to video in 1995. 1998 sees many Lion King fans all over the world waiting for the video release of The Lion King part II "Simba's Pride".
To date The Lion King is Disney's most successful animated feature grossing $40 million in it's opening weekend.

Perhaps one of the most stunning parts of The Lion King was the Wildebeest stampede...this two and a half minute sequence took animators over 2 years to create! This part is actually one of my favorite parts of the movie because it looks so real when the Wildebeest start down the cliff face. Truely Awesome!
More than one million drawings were created for the Lion King movie.

I get asked often who my favorite Character in The Lion King is. It's a very hard question to answer, because each character is so unique. While I have no real favorite, I do have a soft spot for Mufasa. I think the artists did a wonderful job with drawing him...he is so majestic (just as a king should be *S*)...but it's mainly the voice behind Mufasa...I mean...James Earl Jones has THE BEST voice!

As I mentioned above, "Simba's Pride" is due for release in 1998...It is a direct to video release and is due on the 27th of October 1998. Many of the old characters remain but in the sequel there are plenty of new characters to see. Above is the video release cover...Cool huh? The Lioness cub you see with Simba is actually Simba's daughter "Kiara".

All "Lion King" images are copyright of Disney. I DO NOT claim these images as my own.
