I am tired of Don's schpiel about expectations around here, and a little pissed about his comments of yesterday.
He now says we were lucky to win a couple of bowls and go to play for a couple of national championships.
Lucky? I will admit that the 93 team was the benefactor of luck that no Mountaineer team has ever been acustomed to.
But we were lucky? Now I am officially off his suport list.
I am sick and tired of him making excuse after excuse as to why we can't compete. We lost this, we lost that. He keeps bringing up the fact that we lost two juniors to the NFL. Unless he was planning on Amos or Page playing defense this year, they aren't the problem.
Hey Don, I don't expect you to win national championships every year.
I don't even expect you to play for national championships any year.
I do expect that to be your goal every year.
I do expect you to win more than you lose.
I expect you not to lose to 1-3 Navy teams at home.
I expect you to coach a team. I expect you to have guys that improve year after year. I expect hunger.
And right now, you are on a diet.
And so is your team.
I am sick of hearing your players tell us how the other team wanted it more.
And I am sick of you telling us that coaches can't motivate.
You can motivate. It isn't that hard.
Here is a hint:
Learn your assignments or sit the hell down.
Play with discipline of sit the hell down.
Play with fire or sit the hell down.
I would much rather lose with youngsters, than lose with guys that can't find it in themselves to get excited about playing college football.
You even threatened to sit them down after the Miami game. Three games later, and the same problem exists.
And you expect us not to be upset with what we see?
Too many hot fudge sundaes.
