About Me
My name is William Boone, or Bill to those who know me. I am 49 years old, married to Kyoko Nakamizo for 20 years on April 3, 2001. We live in a small town in northeast Texas called Rockwall. It's a relaxed, safe and friendly place to live and raise kids.
I have been researching the Boone family for more than 6 years. What I thought would be a few months project has now become a seeming never-ending quest. The fascination of dicovering new facts has only stimulated my curiosity to learn more. I have spent many hours in musty court and city hall archives, genealogy libraries, and cemetries in Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi, and Arkansas. I have amassed a large database that I am in the process of organizing, some of which will be posted here. My ultimate goal is publishing what will probably be a three volume journal detailing the fascinating story of the Boon/Boone family and its migration from the Virginia Tidewater region in the late 1600's, through North Carolina, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas.
I am indebted to those that came before me in this research from my family Daniel Ratcliffe Boone, Harriet Oliver, and Allie Mae Boone Abraham. Also to the cousins I've met throgh the internet; Boone Groves, Darrin Dickey, Judge George Ready, and Sue Worthington White. The library staff at various locations our family lived; Shirley McGraw in Lonoke, Arkansas and Mildred Scott in Hernando, Mississippi. My Arkansas cousins Buddy andTommy Boone, Jim Abraham Jr. MD, and Betty Boone. Researchers Dorothy Taylor of DeSoto County Misissippi and James McAllister of Arkansas. Valuble informtion never to be found elsewhere was provided by the late Mr. Preston Vaden. His sharp mind and attention to detail was a treasure that I will always cherish. The senior citizens of Lonoke, Arkansas has been my most valued resource; this includes Mrs. Elizabeth Vaden, Harriet Lawson, Earl Jackson, and others.
I invite you to visit this page often. It will evolve over time as more information is posted.
