About Arizona in Mojave County at Dolan Springs:
Technically, our cabin is in Dolan Springs, Arizona. However, our land isn't any where near town. The land is divided into checker board type sections about a mile long either way. We are the only ones living in our section, so we have this whole area to ourselves. The reason is, that it is too rugged for anyone in their right mind to want to live there. There is no electricity or water. We are right next to the wilderness reserve area and I used to walk across the fence and be there. There are two springs that I know of within a few miles from our land. the water is not too good, but it is drinkable.

Description: Desert. It gets cold at night and very hot during the day. It is very windy. I tried every means to keep up a tent and the wind is so strong that it took away every tent I ever put up. The climate is dry. I could never stand to stay outside during the day. The best time to go out is in the morning or evening. The only things that seem to grow here is Joshua trees, Yucca trees, cat trees, chaparral bushes and sage brush. Most anything will grow, however, if you have water. Watermelon and other plants would grow by themselves around our leaky water tank.

Dolan Springs, Arizona is located 70 miles east of Las Vegas Nevada, and 50 miles south of Kingman Arizona. Population: 1,300 spread out over about 20 miles either direction. My friend Rick Fischer describes our town as a large trailer park spread out over a 20 mile area. The Grand Canyon is 20 miles away, and we get a lot of tourists buses through our town. Lake Mead is 40 miles north of town. Most of us don't live in town. There is only one paved road. Pierce ferry road is the main road into town. You have to go 20 miles off Route 93 to get there.
After that, it is all dirt roads to any of our homes. My road will give you a heart attack and I doubt very much you'll have the nerve to make it to my house. Your car will bottom out on some big rocks and you will probably lose a muffler, if you make it up several steep hills. If you have a 4 wheel drive you should be o.k.
