MIDDLEMAN TO MASTER is a natural horsemanship training technique. It was developed for the individual who has the ability and desire to train his or her own horse, but quite simply put by one of my students, "just doesn't know how or where to start".
I demonstrate to the human student how to successfully accomplish whatever phase of training they want to concentrate on. When proficient, they apply this newly acquired knowledge to the "equine" student. These lessons can range from gentling the feral horse to training for the show ring. Students hire me for as little as one session, to learn how to address a behavior problem, or teach a horse to load in a trailer. Several sessions are needed for getting a horse under saddle, and riding it.
The Middleman to Master technique is especially popular because the horse learns and identifies cues from its owner, never having to relearn a different feel when released out of trainer's hands . Cost of boarding is eliminated, and the horse is schooled according to the owner's schedule and pace. Most obstacles encountered are merely a phone call away.
The clinics I hold are given in this same manner..I go slowly and make sure those attending understand the very basic details of the material presented, before moving on.
