Tips and Troubleshooting
There really isn't that many tips that can help with the making of shots that I haven't mentioned earlier.
If I can think of some more I will add them as soon as I hear about them.
Don't forget to E-mail me with any info or tips that you have used or seen before.
Tips:-
1- Try to use proprietary brands as the cheaper alcohol will ruin your shot.
2- Try to practice with a spoon before just pouring a liquid on top of another. Better practice makes better shots.
3- You will need to use a spoon for some liqueurs as they are just too hard to try to float.
4- Always ensure that your nip pourers are clean as then they will make it easier to pour your shot.
Troubleshooting is one of those things where you have to look at various things that could have caused your shot to look and taste terrible.
Different ingredients or wrong equipment can make for an ugly shot.
Troubleshooting (no pun intended):-
Problem- Liquids mix when they are supposed to float.
Solution 1- You could be using a cheaper ingredient and its quality has affected the shot.
Solution 2- Try using a spoon to float the ingredients on top of one another.
Solution 3- Your nip pourer might have been pouring too fast for the alcohol to stay separate.
Problem- Creamy liqueurs curdle in your drink.
Solution 1- Try getting them to float on top of the other ingredients.
Solution 2- Try using a different cream liqueur but the same quality.
Solution 3- Some drinks will curdle anyway. Just try to make do.
