Father: Well, Tommy, I talked to your teacher today, and now I want
to ask you a question. Who is the laziest person in your class?
Tommy: I dont know, Father.
Father: Oh, yes, you do! When other boys and girls only watches how other people work?
Tommy: Our teacher, Father.
A very old teacher tells the class about King George IV.
Teacher: He was a great king and he lived more than one hundred and thirty years ago.
Tommy: Good Heavens, sir! One hundred and thirty years ago! And you still remember him?
What a good memory you have.

An old gentleman was walking slowly along a street one day when he saw a little boy who
was trying to reach a doorbell which was too high for him. He was a kind-hearted old man,
so he stopped and said, "I will ring the bell for you", and then he pulled the
bell so hard that it could be heard all over the house.
The little boy looked up at him and said, "Now we will run away. Come on",
and before the old gentleman knew what was happening, the naughty boy had run round the
corner of the street, leaving the man to explain to th angry owner of the house why he had
rung the bell.

Tuesday is the day for pancakes. In former times it was customary for people to be shriven

Many students of English tend to translate phrases and

I got the message with evaluation from my instructor in SLP:

|
Hi, Your
newspaper looks great! Never apologize for your English not being perfect. You are doing
way better than I am to speak more than one language. I tried to learn a second language
once and failed miserably. I have great respect for people who speak more than one
language. I attached a ribbon for your page.
