Security
Keep your mobile safe!

When using your phone, remain aware of your surroundings and do not use it in crowded areas or where you feel unsafe.
Avoid text messaging whilst out on the street.
Avoid displaying your phone where it is in public view. Keep it with you at all times and don't leave it unattended.
Have your phone security marked by police, with your postcode, street number or house name.
Note what kind of mobile you have. Write down your mobile, SIM card and IMEI numbers and keep the information safe. The 15 digit serial or IMEI number can be accessed by keying *#06# into most phones or by looking behind the battery of your phone.
Always use your SIM cards PIN and the phone's security lock code or PIN number, the SIM cards pin stops it being used in another phone and the phones PIN will stop anyone using your phone with another SIM card.
Register your phone with your network provider, so that if it is stolen they can bar your SIM card from use

If the PIN on your SIM card is entered incorrectly three times then your SIM card will be `blocked` and you will not be able to use your phone so choose one that you will remember. To unblock it you will need the 8-figure PUK number supplied with your SIM card. You will need to enter appropriate sequence  (see below) for your mobile phone, using the PUK number and selecting a new PIN.
