This site has languished for a long time as I had temporarily lost the ability to change it and given up trying for a while after that. It now appears that I can update it again, and I'll try to do just that. Updated pages can be identified by the revision dates noted on the bottoms of the pages.
It seems that everywhere I go, I carry my camera with me. I like to get candid shots of people - they seem to tell more about what's going on than anything you can write. And now, through the miracle of these web pages, I can share the photos with you - so I'm doing it.
I have organized the photographs chronologically within what are now six groups:
Click on the underlined item that interests you now. Sometimes the candid shots that I take are perfectly illuminated and perfectly framed, and catch the feeling of the moment perfectly. More often they are less than that. But if I cut off the top of your head, so what? Flattops may become popular again someday. At functions like the PAN Forums, where there are close to 100 people, I tried to get at least one picture of everyone as a remembrance, but two pictures of the speakers. 'Twere too expensive to do much more. One of the wonderful things about computer pictures is that you can do things to them so easily - there are programs available to crop pictures, to make them lighter, to make them darker, to alter the colors - in fact to do everything but replace a chopped off head. Generally speaking, the prints that came back from the processor on print paper look a smidgeon better than the computer images. Talking about the prints, I have some copies to distribute, and of course I have the negatives. The negatives are keyed to the photos (example: GZ-29 or HI-6). If you would like a hard print or an enlargement of a photo, let's see what we can arrange. Where it is known to me, I have shown the home state of each of the attendees at the PAN Forums. Feel free to download these photos if you choose. Please use the credit and date line above the photo. It's great to have a complimentary web site. We expect somewhat slower service than we would get from "paid" services. We expect that from time to time, your browser will time out - or the server will time out and give you their something other than what you were hoping for. I've experienced times when the server will incorrectly deny that a page is on the site. So be patient, and if necessary use your "Reload" (or "Restore" or "Refresh") button or your "Back" and "Forward" buttons as might be necessary. We'd like to add more pictures to this site as they become available. We're looking mostly for pictures of people who are Parkinsonians (not pictures of groups) at Parkinsonian group functions. If you have pictures that fall into that category and would like to share them, please let me know, and perhaps we'll add them.
PAN is an abbreviation for the Parkinson's Action Network
2000 Public Policy Forum are here too,
but they are not yet included in the index.
The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research and PAN merged at the time of this forum. The former was the successor organization. Then they became separate again, presumably because they emphasized different means in their fight with Parkinson's.
.....or continue reading below.
Who's a Parkinsonian? For these purposes, let's consider any people with Parkinson's, their families, caregivers, medical providers, service providers, researchers, or interested friends. And maybe a few others not mentioned in that description.
