Advocacy
We have many things that we would like to advocate. Primarily , most Parkinsonians would put a cure for Parkinson's among their top priorities. Were that not to happen quickly. they would hope something to slow the process of the disease and abate the symptoms. This is where our primary interest is today, and countless it will continue to stay there for most of us until Parkinson's becomes but a footnote in medical texts.
Embryonic stem cells appear to offer hope in the direction of a cure - at this writing, it is reported in the press that embryonic stem cells appear to offer more promise that adult stem cells, and they would be a faster route to the cure. For this reason, almost all of the Parkinson's advocates are also advocates for the relatively unrestricted use of embryonic stem cells. We have taken on this battle as a part of our own.
There are other causes which the Parkinson's community is involved in - very important causes to people with Parkinson's and their families - which certainly merit our attention, but which should not make us lose sight of our primary goal. Among these
