Foundations
relating to Parkinson's Disease

For the purpose of this discussion, a Foundation is a group of Parkinsonians that is organized on a National or International basis. A support group may be a part of a foundation, but it is local in nature. A support group might meet regularly on a weekly or monthly basis; a foundation would meet annually, if that. In addition to nationwide foundations in the U.S., there are also regional foundations, which may be quasi-independent but which may also be chapters of a nstional foundation.. There are also instances of support groups which work together to minimize the amount of labor required to keep them viable and effective. Foundations of which I had previously not heard come to my attention frequently, and they will be added shortly after I hear of them.
