BPD ( Borderline Personality Disorder) BPD is a personality disorder People with borderline personality disorder are deeply afraid of being abandon by others- loved ones , family, friends. They make frantic attempts to avoid real or imagined abandonment. The perception of impending separation or rejection can lead to profound changes in self image, cognition and emotion. BPD patients may react with unwarranted panic and anger over something seemingly little. Intolerance to being alone can lead to self mutilation or suicidal acts. Some symptoms that are posable are: Self injury, anger, rapid mood change, a persistent feeling of loneliness. There are many treatments for this disorder: Therapy, anti-anxiety medication or antidepressants. Consult with your doctor on what is best for you.
Bipolar Disorder (manic depressive)
Bipolar disorder is when your mood changes from manic to depressed. Some people experience these frequently. Symptoms are often different form on person to the next. In manic (mania) stages the mood switches to "high". Mania usually takes several weeks to fully develop. You can feel elated, irritable, increased thinking occurs, feelings of heightened concentration, increased energy level, decreased need for sleep, erratic appetite, and increased libido. Some people may even have delusions or hallucinations. On the other end is depression. Here are some symptoms of depression: Depressed mood, dysphoric mood, guilty feelings, loss of ability to feel pleasure, social withdraw, poor concentration, insomnia or hypersomia, weight loss or gain, ;loss of interest in sex, fatigue, and head achs. Some medications that are commonly used in the treatment are: Lithium, Depekote, Lamictal, Ativan,Zyprexa, Effexor, Paxil, Prozac, Seraquel, Elavil, Sinequan,Tegretol, and Kolonipin. This is just to name a few, consult your doctor about the medication that is best for you and your condition.
