Parnall Corr. Facility is designated as an unsecure level one facility yet there are over 350 Sex Offenders housed here.  As I reported in my May article, Many of these Sex Offenders are transported to unsecure areas adjacent to the facility each day for work. </div> <bR> <div> On the evening of 6-22-2001 prisoner Brian Berger #197891 escaped from one of these unsecure areas and if not for his stupidity in becoming intoxicated prior to escaping, he may have gotten clean away. Prisoner Berger was apprehended a short time after escaping while riding a stolen bike on the side of the highway. The biggest problem for the MDOC will be attempting to explain why prisoner Berger, serving time for csc in the  first degree,  was even at Parnall Corr. Facility much less working in an unsecure area in the first place. As I  have consistently attempted to report MDOC/Parole Board Officials have absolutely no respect for Law, Civil Rights or the Constitution.</div> <bR> <div> There are literally hundreds of serious lawsuits filed against MDOC/Parole Baord Officials each year by both Prison Guards and Prisoners for Civil Rights Violations, Decadence, and various other acts of barbarism however society has no firm grasp of the cost to them. Attorney General Jennifer Granholm who has announced she will run for Governor zealously defends MDOC/Parole Board Officials no matter how barbaric their actions, costing Michigan Taxpayers hundreds of Millions of tax dollars each year. If charges of Law Suits were every to be filed against prison officals for housing sex offenders at Parnall Corr. Facility, This would be defended by Ms. Jennifer Granholm at taxpayers expense. Ms. Granholm's job as Chief Law Enforcement Officer in Michigan as to uphold the law, not defend those who violate it. In the case of Parole Board members daily violations of law, Ms. Granholm has absolutely no authority to defend them as they have not been civil servants since 1992 thus negating any Civil Servant protections. Do MDOC/Parole Board Officials truly care about protecting Society? As a prisoner who has closely observed the progression of Socialist ideaologies within this system I can emphatically answer no, They do not. If they truly cared they would not create incredible rage in prisoners and then unleash them upon Society. Society may have got extremely lucky with prisoner Berger's first capture.</div> <bR> <div> As the creator of Prisoners Against Parole Board Abuse and an advocate for the abolishment of the Michigan Parole Board I rarely, if ever speak in their defense however in the case of prisoner Brian Berger it appears their repetitive continuances were justified by his abhorrent prison however this does not excuse the approximately 10,000 prisoners who are continued year in and year out merely too keep prisons full.</div> <bR> <div> Taxpayers need too lobby for complete prison reforn now, and for a bill to abolish the Michigan Parole Board before the actions of these corrupt, abusive MDOC/Parole Board Officials actioons begin to have devastating effects upon Soceity.  </div> <bR> <div>  by: Rick Crowell #144211                        </div> <div>         1790 E.
