Bruin Party Platform
The Bruin party is the party of self reliance. They believe
that every bear is responsible for his or her own well being.
That every bear should take advantage of the opportunities
that are given them to lift themselves up into a successful
contributing member of the Bear Shelf. They further believe
that's government's role in the day to day life of the average bear
should be minimal. And that the government should help disadvantaged
bears only in extreme cases and then only temporarily. They that the
best way to help the bears is to provide them with a strong economy
so that they can have steady employment and to allow them to keep
more of the money they earn. They also believe that a strong bear-family
unit is essential to a strong bear-shelf and that all effort should
be toward keeping the bear-family unit together and successful.
They believe that the only really good cookie is a Chocolate Chip Cookie
but that the bears should work out their own means of getting their cookies

Bruin Candidate Simon:
Formerly a banker, financial expert and business bear went into politics.
Ran for Governor of The Lori's Sofa District on the Bruin ticket
and won. Was re-elected to a second term. Is very popular among the voters there.
Believes that every bear should take responsibility for his own well being.
The best way to help the bears is to make sure that they have a good economy
with low taxes and a goverment that allows the bears to keep
more of the cookie money they earn. Believes in a strong family and a strong
defense of the bear shelf. Believes that private institutions do a better
job educating little bears and that goverment should allow parent bears to
decide what school their children will attend and help them pay the tuition
once they decide.
Bruin Candidate Lawrence Sterling III
A businessbear and investor. The son of Oil Company magnate Lord Lawrence Sterling II
Has sat on three different boards of directors including Sterling Oil and Sterling
Enterprises INC. He's a graduate of Bearvard Business School
Believes that government should stay out of business. That business is really
the best institution to help people and that business can be trusted to meet the
needs of the people it serves. Believes in minimal taxation and minimal goverment.
That government should only take on the tasks that people and business can't do
themselves. Believes that rich bears should get a break because they provide everything
and most of the other bears work for them. Has promised that every week there will
chocolate chip cookies in the cookie jar. But that the bears should only eat them
in moderation.
Muffin
Muffin is the junior congressbear from Hubby's office
district. She has only served two terms in the Shelf
of Representatives. She jumped into the race because
she felt that the apparent connection between Rvnwolf-Bear
(Red Panda Party....see below) and the Ursa Party was
dangerous. Since the current candidates in the
Bruin Party ( Simon and Lawrence Sterling III) didn't seem
to have the strength to take on the Ursa's she entered the
race. In addition to serving as congressbear she has also worked
with the Local Bruin Party and Worked on Anna's short lived
Presidential campaign. Muffin has been involved in a behind
the scenes effort to create a Simon / Anna ticket. But so far
has garnered little interest. She has promised to make every effort
to get the cookie jar filled with Chocolate Chip cookies every week.
Ursa Party Platform
The Ursa Party believes that freedom and life, libearty, and the pursuit of
bear happiness should be the first priority of all bears. That bears should
work hard and be good to other bears and their families but rest assured that
should hard times befall them they don't have to fear because their government
will always be ready to help them in every way it can. They believe that
it's the role of government to look after it's citizens and that it's the
responsibilty of the affluent bears and businesses to provide the funding
to look after the less fortunate. That government is best equipped to see
to the education of little bears. They believe that bears should be allowed
to do anything that they want if it makes them happy and doesn't hurt any other bears.
They think that cookies are good but they should be oatmeal cookies because they
are better for the bears.

Ursa Party Candidate Theodore R. (Teddy) Bear
Teddy is the Bear Shelf's oldest citizen. He's very
well respected because of his extensive experience.
Teddy has always been a leader. After helping found the
Bear Shelf he went on to be it's first governor. Since
then he has been a senator for the master bedroom district
in two states. and then moved on to be governor of the
Lori's Office District he then moved to the Bear Shelf
where he became a Senator again.
He believes that
life is short and you had better enjoy it while you can.
For that reason he is against government involvement that
interferes with people's lives unless they need help.
He warns of people who value money over pleasure. "People
who think that way can't be allowed to decided what's good
for the rest of us" he says. He promises that there will
be plenty of Oatmeal cookies if he's elected President.

Ursa Party Candidate Brownie
Brownie started out as an ordinary bear and worked his
way up into the halls of government. Brownie is one of
the older and more respected members of the Bear Shelf.
He started out as a security bear in the Master Bedroom
District where he was in charge of protecting Lori's Lingerie
Chest. He went into politics and became a representative of the
big dresser then moved on to be Governor of hubby's night stand.
From there he was successfully elected to Senator of hubby's sofa
district. Where he has served three terms.
"I know there are some bears who think that there is no reason for
Government to play a role in people's lives. That all governing
requires is the ability to defend the country and deliver the mail.
I am here to tell you, fellow bears, that attitude cannot be allowed to
stand. We cannot hope to ever reach the potential of being the greatest
community of bears on this planet if we aren't willing to do whatever it
takes to see that ALL bears share in the prosperity. And I believe
that Government DOES have a role to play, in seeing that no bear goes
without cookies and hot chocolate" he said during his announcement.
He has vowed that there will be an unlimited supply of oatmeal cookies
if he's elected.

Ursa Party Candidate Cajun-Bear
Is for eliminating and controling the power of government in every
way possible. Believes that people who are don't need help and
aren't hurting anyone should be left alone. Does believe that
if poor bears have no where in the system to turn that government
should intervene for as long as necessary until they can support
themselves again. "A cookie in every jar and more space on the
bear shelf for every bear is what I say. And always remember that
a dancing bear is a happy bear. And enough of this oatmeal cookie
business ...I say fill those cookie jars with Chocolate Chunk!!."
Here is what she had to say during her announcement.
"I don't know about you bears. But I for one am tired of seeing
our bear shelf being slowly taken over and run by big money bears
who think they can buy anything they lay their hands on! Furthermore
I am tired of seeing our freedom and individuality being eroded by
expedient do-now , think-later politics where the motivation
is never what's good for the bears or makes the bears happier and
more secure. But rather the motivation is how do I make a fast buck
and get myself re-elected? I can no longer stand by and do nothing
while our independence is taken from us. Therefore I am announcing
my candidacy for the President of Lori's Bear Shelf."
The Independents
Scarl-Bear believes in a strong defense and complete freedom
for all bears. He believes in low taxes and a promotion
of business but not at the expense of the bear's standard
of living or their independence. He thinks that the best
cookie for the cookie jar is an Oreo.
Red Panda Party
The Red Panda Party believes in the complete redistribution
of wealth. That all differences between rich and
poor bears should be removed. They believe
that government must intervene on the behalf of the
laborers and the poor bears because on the issue of
earning power money will always be able to out earn labor.
The Red Panda's believe that labor should be the
only tool of earning, and that people with excess
wealth should return that wealth to the society that
they are part of. They believe that bears need
to be educated to understand that they are only
part of the greater society of the bear shelf
and they should be thinking of what's good
for every bear and for the shelf before they
think of what's good for themselves.
Rvnwolf-Bear
Rvnwolf-Bear believes in the creation of a bear shelf
built on the principle of the common good first.
He believes in the destruction of the ruling class
and a leveling of the standard of wealth between rich and
poor bears. He believes that bears should be able to
earn success with their labors and that it shouldn't
be possible to out earn a laborer by investing wealth.
"My only promise to voters--bear and wolf alike--is that
every bear will get what every bear deserves. And every
bear ONLY deserves what he or she works for. There will be
no free cookies, pies or ice cream under my regim...er
administration. You get out of the cookie jar only what
you can put back into it. I vow to restore the work ethic
that has sorely been missed on the bear shelf to date."
If elected there will be Chinese Fortune Cookies in the
cookie jar every week.
