Egg donation - for donors |
|
What if I change my mind after the treatment has started?
Under the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act you must give valid, informed consent to the use of
your eggs, and of the embryos produced from your eggs and to the surgical procedure necessary to
retrieve the eggs. This consent is obtained by completing and signing a form supplied by the Authority.
For this consent to be valid, you must have received adequate information about egg donation and must
have been offered counselling before signing the form. This consent may be withdrawn at any time
except in repect of an embryo which has already been used.
You are free to withdraw consent to the egg retrieval at any time before the operation. If you are
undergoing sterilisation or other related surgery, that operation will still be performed on the terms
already agreed.
